Good location. Only a few block walk from the downtown square. Ski rental shop and restaurants only about a block away. Had a bunch of cabins you could rent. Hot tub was nice after a long day of snowboarding. They have a free bus to Jackson Mtn
that runs at 7,8 and 9am and returns a few times later in the day after the lifts stop or just before. Free coffee, hot chocolate, fruit and cookies. Staff was very friendly at the front desk. Not a super luxurious place but for the price and location worth it. Don't expect filet mignon on a hamburger budget.....
Great location right int he center of town. Close to anything worth eating or shopping at. Also loved the location to the Grand Targhee Shuttle in the morning, right next door. Nothing fancy here, but friendly staff and a clean room are pretty
much all you need on a ski vacation with friends.
No complaints with this property as we've stayed in other Jackson Hole properties that were not as nice. Room was clean and it was quiet except for kids from Sun Valley that ran in the hallways. They were apparently there for a ski race event. Not
a problem as I was a kid once, too. Fresh fruit was good in the office each morning and staff was friendly enough.
the Inn is a friendly and convenient place to stay. our problem was that - as has happened before when booking though Orb... or Exp.... - we got the least desirable room. it was located just off the entrance - so we heard everyone who came through
the doors - and opposite the ice machine - so we heard every ice bucket fill up. we would have requested a change of room, but only were there for barely 12 hours as we had a very early flight. the room was nicely set up, but clearly had a moldy odor. when we book with hotels directly, we never have this problem. though all sides deny it, the rooms we get when we book through agencies are rarely good ones, and often seem like the worst ones. we guess it just is how the hotels cope with the discounts.
We really enjoyed our stay here on our mom/son western extravaganza. It began with our late-afternoon check in after a day at GTNP. We were pleasantly greeted, offered our fill of fresh baked cookies and hot chocolate, and told we had been
upgraded! Our room was spotless and modernly decorated, though the facility is not new. I was looking for affordable accommodations, not amenities, so we were very happy in both regards. We were within a few blocks of downtown, so we split up-one for the Million Dollar Cowboy and football, one for the many shops in Jackson. Small park/playground, hot tub and laundry on premises, which we didn't use. We realized when we checked in that our whole family had stayed there about 15 years ago. We had a cabin room then and it was great as well. Nostalgic and fun-good stay, no complaints.
We were more than pleased with the rooms at Elk Country Inn. They were updated, very clean, had little touches...like pot holders and tea towels for the microwave use! The bed linens were fabulously soft and the rooms were very quiet. We WILL stay
there again when we visit JH! It is also just a short distance to all the restaurants!
