Nothing out of the ordinary

My experiences were nothing out of the ordinary. The room was spacious and clean enough but nothing more that I expected. The same can be said for the staff - a couple friendly encounters and a couple awkward, block-them-out-of-my-mind encounters. The only major plus that I would give this hotel is that the location is great! Great food and shops within easy walking distance.

Trio American Bistro: ever bite was delicious, very lively, perhaps slightly loud but worth it. Amazing creme brulee especially. Need a reservation!

Best location in Jackson

This hotel is located right in the middle of downtown Jackson, so it is a perfect location for walking around the town. The hotel has a rustic feel to it, but is also very modern and very clean. I stayed in three different 4 star hotels in Jackson during our trip and this was by far the most convenient and highest quality.

Great location, very clean, good atmosphere

Hotel was uber clean and the location is great if you want a downtown experience. Blow dryer did not work and it was not replaced with one that did even after telling the front desk. Coffee pot in room was terrible -- leaked all over the place. Tried it twice and then gave up. Would be nice to have K-cup or a coffee station in lobby for easterners who tend to get up at 5 am Jackson Hole time. One concierge was wonderful one had no personality and was short. Jackson Hole town restaurants were pricey which was fine for a few evening meals, but concierge and staff would not recommend other less pricey places. We found a few on our own and made it work. The best breakfast place was the Harvest Grain Bakery, located off the Town Square, which opens early 6:30 am -- good for easterners looking for coffee in lieu of the bad pot in the rooms. Also, hard to find a place that serves any coffee other than Starbucks. We and the couple traveling with us do not like Starbucks. There are other good coffees out there, folks, give people a choice. Harvest Grain Bakery does NOT serve Starbucks -- so that is another reason we liked it. We visited to take in the Great Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Stayed for 5 days. Good concierge set us up with a fantastic float trip down the Snake River and a wonderful two-hour horseback ride in the hills surrounding Jackson Hole. This concierge knows his stuff and listened to our requests. He was awesome. Our room was small -- no room to sit in the two chairs to put on our shoes. Our companions had a much larger room for the same price. They could sit in their chairs to put on shoes and to relax. We had to sit on our beds all the time. We booked both rooms at the same time on Orbitz and booked them together. Our room would have had more space if they had not tried to cram so much into the small space. Would have been better set up as one king bed rather than the two queen beds. Overall we had a great trip, the hotel beds were comfortable and we just delt with the small room and small bathroom.

Harvest Grain Bakery opens early -- 6:30 a.m. -- and has fresh breads and sweet rolls and breakfast sandwiches and homemade fresh granola. No Starbucks coffee which is great for us. One of only two restaurants we found that DOES NOT serve Starbucks.

Awesome historic hotel

The minute we walked through the front doors we felt welcome. The staff was exceptional. We only had the time to spend one night, but we have found 'thee place' to stay in Jackson. Our room was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable. Bathroom was large, shower awesome and there was even a portable humidifier because the air is so dry. Can't wait to come back again. The food in the Silver Grill was great and the silver dollar bar is something you shouldn't miss seeing.

Handicap Access

The Wort is the best hotel in town with handicap accessible rooms. There are some rooms that overlook an alley - avoid those. Jackson is great for people in wheelchairs because everything is close and flat. Restaurants near the hotel that we loved were Trio, Sweetwater, Wild Sage, Merry Piglets ($5 Margaritas are good), Snake River Grill (Onion Rings are fun), and Cafe Genevieve (Eggs Benedict). The view from the Mural Room at Jackson Lake Lodge is stunning.
