Two days in Jackson Hole.

Every thing fine about the hotel but when checking in, my wife's credit card was hit for $1000 when using it as on file backup. This made the card "appear" over drawn and made it unusuable for the visit. The "mistake" couldn't be corrected which caused a few anxious moments and calls to the bank back in Tulsa. Seems like management should have corrected the mistake on the spot.

Great trip..Love Jackson Hole area!

Very satisfied with the hotel. Hotel very clean, rooms were comfortable, new decor. Front desk staff could be alittle friendlier! Breakfast was good and fresh...would be nice if they mixed it up a bit, staying there for a full week we were tired with the same options every day. We used pool and hot tub..nice after a long day of hiking!

Great location and very nice hotel. Would stay again!

Overall, it was a nice place to stay in a great location. Everything was at our fingertips and we could even walk where we needed to go. The hotel room was comfortable and clean. The only problem that we had was with the fireplace. We were under the impression that the fireplace was a gas burner; however, it wasn't. There was no wood or matches provided to us. The people in the room beside us tried to use their fireplace and smoke filled the hotel. This made for a very uncomfortable night.

Poor honeymooners felt like royalty!

My husband and I chose Jackson Hole for its quick getaway status from where we live. Didn't have a lot of money so we thought we settled when we chose the Best Western. We were in for a surprise! The room was larger than we anticipated with a gorgeous fireplace and jetted tub - neither of which we thought we'd get. It was so cozy and the staff were SO friendly. We plan on re-visiting this hotel each time we decide to relive those first few days of our happy marriage!

Great Getaway!

We stayed at the Best Western Lodge at Jackson upon our arrival in Wyoming, and again the night before our departure. Though the Lodge was a bit pricey ($243/night), we really enjoyed our stay. The suite (do they have "rooms"?) was spacious and well approinted. We had a fireplace, deep jetted tub (both nights the tubs showed evidence of "repair" and should be replaced), sitting area, kitchenette, highend linens, etc. The full breakfast buffet was fresh and ample with a variety of offerings, and the atmosphere was very nice. The Lodge is decorated with "bears" outside, looking in windows, and is fairly well known to locals as "the bear place". Everyone was friendly and welcoming. If we ever go back to Jackson, we'd enjoy staying there again. It was easy to find, and only a couple of blocks from a major grocery store in case you want to stock up on picnic supplies for the short trip into the National Parks. It is a short drive to the town square and shops, and next door to a special restaurant, the Gun Barrell. We had elk chops and a bill of almost $100 for two, a splurge to be sure! The restaurant is decorated with game animals in a Lodge tradition. We spent two days each in the Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. While at Coulter Bay, in the Tetons, we took a dinner cruise and enjoyed a cookout on Elk Island. We saw a lot of wildlife and beautiful scenery, and returned home with memories of a wonderful vacation. One note..... some of the locals like to brag they they are skiers, and let us know they are glad we're spending our money there. A bit arrogant. However, the people in the shops and the Chamber of Commerce were very friendly.

Reservations far in advance are necessary for summer in the National Parks. We would have missed the dinner cruise, and National Park lodges if we had not planned in advance.

True Jackson "Hotel"

We got to the hotel and the computers were down so had to wait about 20 minutes to check in (not their fault). The staff was apologetic and did give everyone free bottles of water. When we went to the room, it seemed to be clean except there was some dental floss in front of the trash can (that was their fault). It's about a mile down to Town Square. Not a long walk but enough if you're tired. Had dinner and got back to the hotel. Parking can get to be a premium if you get back late. Ran water in the jetted tub. Turned the jets on and a bunch of black hair came out. Looked like a chimpanzee had been in the tub! Bypassed the bath and just took a shower. Was very disappointed in that. The hot bath would have been nice after a long drive. The hotel was quiet. Didn't hear toilets or other doors closing. Most of the furnishing in the room is pretty average with other hotels I've stayed in. They did have a down(?) blanket along with the comforter on the bed. Very warm for the first of July. The AC worked great! After shopping around on and looking at all the "hotels" in town, I recognized most of them. The other places are mostly older MOTELS with outdoor entrances to the rooms. Just be aware if that isn't what you are looking for. There are other places closer in to town but the Best Western looked a lot nicer. This is Jackson Hole, so expect to pay a lot for the average or even below average. Somehow things have become inflated here. The shopping around the Town Square has the usual t-shirt and trinket shops. Try to keep this to a minimum. Most the shoppers are rude and some of the workers are too. Could careless if you are there or not.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

When you go to Grand Teton National Park, take your time and get out of the car. Don't try to rack up 3 national parks and 500 miles in one day. Take short hikes, go exploring, get down on your knees and take pictures of the wildflowers. This is a wonderfully fascintating area that you are visiting. Jackson itself is an over sold, disspointing tourist trap. Get out and enjoy nature. It can be very relaxing.
