Not Customer Service Oriented

Never got there due to an accident 3 days prior. Broke a leg, sprained another, and on crutches. No main floor accommodations, so could not possibly go. Because we didn't take their cancellation insur. they refunded only $520 of $1400 cause they rented the room for 3 days-but charged us the tax for 7 days, & charged the other people also. Their policy is WRITTEN IN STONE-which should never be the case when dealing with a situation like mine.

Most Enjoyable stay and location

Very enjoyable, cozy small room, but excellent quality, comfortable bedding, air conditioner (necessity) freshened room at night in main lodge. European style room....wonderful breakfasts cooked to perfection with friendly servers...great morning coffee, teas, fresh fruits, delicious miniature croissants, best ever eggs benedict....staying in the main lodge is the way to enjoy this facility.Friends from Germany met us there for morning breakfast who love it.... I will definitely stay there again....but must book ahead of time.

Great location

This inn was a few blocks from the center of town. It was a charming place with a delicious breakfast. We stayed one night after a very strenuous day of hiking. We appreciated the fact that a very good Italian restaurant was directly across the street. The next day we strolled into town for some shopping.

Not what it appears to be

We booked a "creekside cabin" nearly 7 months before our visit. We paid half then, half two weeks before. Our check-in was lukewarm; the other couple with whom we were traveling had an even less enthusiastic welcome. Rude and condescending. Please be advised that the "creekside cabins" mean that one cabin is creekside, the others lined up perpendicular to the creek. Hence, only cabin 5 is truly "creekside." There were ominous posted warnings of $50 fines if we failed to remove the trash when we left, if we left too many recyclables, etc. Over 6 days, there was not one housekeeping visit. We had to go to the main office to find replacement toilet paper and paper towels, and were handed a partially used roll of paper towel with the explanation that that was all that was left. Please do not expect, for a similar rate to the main hotel, to have breakfast. That's $15 extra, because "the cabins have kitchens." Oh, and if you have two bedrooms in a cabin, and expect two bathrooms, think again. The two bedrooms are jack and jill, with one main bath, and only a half bath in the main living area. Really difficult if you have two couples there. Overall, the neighborhood wasn't wonderful, the cabin accommodations less than "European," and the staff ambiance marginal, except maybe for Erika. Is it any wonder that when we checked out, the owner didn't bother to ask how our stay was?

Great little bed and breakfast

Very nice small bed and breakfast, staff was super friendly, breakfast was great and rooms were small and neat. Would have been nice to have more control over the temperature as it was pretty hot all night and the TV was pretty small but very nice, would recommend.

Odd welcome

First, I want to say we had a restful and quiet nights sleep. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Our room was clean. If we hadn't had such an odd check-in experience I would not make any adverse comments. This was our first trip thru Jackson and on a Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 we found all the motels we stopped at were full. We thought we'd have NO trouble finding a room in mid-Sept, but boy were we wrong. Since we travel with our laptop I decided to check [...] and found a room for $179. It was the only one on [...] for Jackson, so I booked it. When we got to the hotel the clerk told us the room would be $300+ for the night. I said, "I've already paid for it on [...]." The clerk asked to see our confirmation -- which I had printed -- then excused herself and made a phone call. She then came back and asked if we had stopped at some other hotel -- Cherry something-or-other I think --and something about someone calling from there for a room. The name of the other hotel wasn't at all familiar to us and frankly I never really did understand what she was asking and why it related to us. She did give us the room for the [...] quoted rate. We were directed to a small "cabin" about a block from the main motel and it was fine. There were (4 or 5) additional cabins behind ours and no one else parked in the parking lot all night so I don't know what the problem was about someone else from another motel. As I said before our room was clean and quiet. It was not a room I'd have paid $300 (or more) for.

Half and Half

The Alpine House Inn and Spa was a one-night stand for us as we headed for Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Our room was sized right for us, but there was no way to cool the room after the heat of the day. Other rooms had A/C units, or more windows, but ours (101) had only one window that opened. .... The temperature outside in the AM was in the high 50's, but our room was still 75 degrees. Fortunately, our last memory was a delicious breakfast before we headed for the parks.

WONDERFUL

THE ALPINE INN WAS A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. THE ROOM AND BATH WERE VERY CLEAN AND QUIET. THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. THE BREAKFAST WAS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST WE HAVE HAD AND ALWAYS THE COFFEE WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE WITH SNACKS DURING THE DAY. WE LOVED THE LOCATION ONLY TWO BLOCKS FROM THE SHOPS IN JACKSON AND THE PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE OF THE INN. ABSOLUTELY WOULD WE RECOMMEND TO OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

BESIDES THE CLOSE SHOPPING IS MANY PLACES TO EAT WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE. FROM FINE DINING TO PIZZA. WE ALSO WENT TO A DINNER THEATER WITHIN THE TWO BLOCKS.
