This hotel is definitely my preference when staying in Gillette. I have previously stayed at a competing hotel at a higher price and not been near as pleased. I travel to Gillette frequently for meetings and will choose to stay here vs. other
Stayed a couple of days while working. Staff was very accommodating as I was checking in very late. Nothing exceptional, hotel met my needs. Excellent location for groceries and restaurants. Reasonable pricing for the area.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
Walmart located within a mile of hotel. Applebees is a short walk almost right out the hotel doors.
I booked this room for my husband for 3 nights. When he checked in the room was gross. Snot, scum & grime all over the shower curtain & the lamp shade busted, etc. he complained the next morning & left a note for the cleaning staff. That afternoon
I called & spoke to someone at the front desk who was fantastic. She looked at the room & cleaned if herself before calling me back. She was horrified. We thought all was well until the next night when we discovered they didn't bother to clean the room again. We don't expect clean sheets every night, but we do expect the beds made, dirty towels picked up & the garbages emptied.
It would be good hotel if the staff is more friendly and rooms are cleaned up properly! We staid only one night when traveling to Yellowstone. Pool was closed for a cleaning and staff was very unfriendly. Otherwise, they offer very good breakfast.
Our first time at Wingate was a pleasent experience
We looked at 4 other hotels before coming here
The price for quoted at the desk was fair for the area and for the quality but still more than we were planing on. The staff at the desk said he didn't want to loose our business and that we could get
it cheeper on line so we checked out several lites and found it on $20 less a night. The room was nicer than any other we had seen. The Pillows were fatter than what I was used to so the second night the staff found me better ones. They had a hot breakfast, it would have been great but we are vegetarian so had to settle for oatmeal and waffles, still not bad. We have put this on our preferred places to stay for price and comfort.
