The hotel used to be in the Best Western chain and was known as the Crossroads Inn. In bygone years it was one of the better hotels in northern Wyoming. It has fallen on bad times. The room assigned to me had an outside entrance but there was a
significant space at the bottom of the door that allowed wind to blow into the room, the bathroom tile was cracked, when I turned on the tub faucet chunks of black debris fell out (looked like dead insects), the toilet seat wasn't fastened securely, there were not facial tissues or toilet paper in the room, the light bar above the sink was not centered so that when I was shaving I could see the right side of my face but the left was in shadows, when I was watching my favorite football team the lights would flicker and the television shut off. The next morning I went down to cancel and the clerk gave me a room on the second floor, in better condition, still without tissues, with a sagging mattress and a heater that was noisy and shut off at 75 degrees and started up at 50 degrees with no apparent thermostat.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
If this is a three star hotel, then the rating system is skewed. The restaurant was closed and the clerk said that the first room had not been rented to anyone in three months that the hotel was going to undergo renovation required by the Quality Inn management. Personally it should be demolished and another be built in its place as the rooms are small and the amenities antiquated. The location is very convenient.
We stayed for 2 nights in mid-May because of a soccer tournament in Sheridan. The beds were pretty comfortable but there was no hot water either morning and complimentary breakfast was practically non existent. I don't think the hotel staff was
prepared to have such a high occupancy. The manager was very polite and apologetic about the lack of hot water the first morning and said it was going to be fixed. Unfortunately, the problem occurred the next morning too. We won't be staying there again.
Overnighted here on multi-day trip. Nothing really remarkable. I gave this three stars mainly because of the friendliness of the staff; both day and night were friendly and helpful. A fridge, microwave, and wifi in the room is a plus. Otherwise,
this is a two star.
