Great Ski Location-Close to Snowshoe

Enjoyed our stay. The restaurant is not open any more, but the lounge was comfortable and had pizza and wings. The Pink Pig BBQ is just across the parking lot and has great BBQ. The free shuttle to Snowshoe is also a plus. Don't expect cell coverage for the last 1 1/2 to 2 hrs of driving into Snowshoe, so have your map printed off. The hotel is a little dated and not real cushy--but for the price, it is fine and at the bottom of the Snowshoe road--very convenient. Snowhoe has free wifi at the resort and in the common areas at The Inn, so you can still send iMessages and check your email. The indoor pool and 3 hot tubs felt great after a day on the slopes! We liked it and will definitely go back!

Scenic Mountain Travels

I was very well pleased with my experience at The Inn at Snowshoe. It was close to my location that I was visiting and enjoyed the scenics roads traveled to get there. The location of the resort thru no fault of theirs has them in a limited area for WiFi, and no cell phone coverage, but it was kind of nice being bothered by people trying to get in touch with me. Internet access is only available in the hotel lobby area not individual rooms, but there was plenty of seats and had no trouble connecting to the outside world. I would stay there again if my travels took me to that part of the country...

Nice Place, Good Deal

Location is 7 or 8 miles downhill from actual Snowshoe resort and attractions, but that's close enough. It was rainy and cold (for July), so nothing on the mountain was open or of interest to us at this time. The resort provided passes to many of the attractions, but since the attractions were closed these were not useful. We spent 2 days at the hotel and it was rather nice. The pool was small but very clean and fun. At either corner of the pool were hot tubs/jacuzzis- fun and relaxing. The breakfast was good, included scrambled eggs, biscuits, and gravy- so a little better than your average motel breakfast fare. The employees were nice and attentive to our needs. Room was clean, lots of towels. If things were perfect, then internet access would be available in the rooms. Instead, had to go into the lobby to log-on. Plugs for computers were not conveniently located, really a minor annoyance. In my opinion, this is a nice place to stay offered at a great price. I'd go back!

Not many local places to dine. We went twice to the Subway just down the road. The young lady making the sandwiches was fun with conversation- be sure to put a couple bucks into her jar.

Good location, clean, quiet but a bit Spartan.

The hotel is very difficult to contact, especially after hours. The reservation number doesn't answer after 5 PM and the number on the reservation confirmation is wrong, ringing a telemarketer's firm. I planned late arrival, and was concerned the front desk might close late at night. But, I could not contact them. The writeup indicates that WiFi is available. But, it fails to mention this is only in the lobby. Since there is no cell communication in the area, and no mobile data, unless you want to stand in the lobby, plan to be incommunicado during your stay. The continental breakfast is very, very basic. The coffee is instant from a machine and neither good nor stimulating . The above criticisms would be easier to forgive were this a mom and pop hotel. But, not having WiFi in the rooms is hard to explain for one of the largest resort operators in the country. They will try and tell you there is no Internet because of the Green Bank Quiet Zone. But, this is simply not true. OK... That's the bad. But, there is good: The room was quite comfortable, if very dated. The beds were very comfortable. But, they were short. I am 5' 9" and my feet were hanging off unless my head was against the headboard. That was weird. The hotel was very quiet. So, relaxing and sleeping in was very easy. It is also in a good location for exploring. The price was right. Now that I know of the ropes, I would stay there again. I would recommend it to a friend, but, with the advance warnings above. The choices are quite limited in this area.

The restaurant across the street in the Route 66 shop is excellent for breakfast all day. The the Southwest Omelet is the best I ever had, and their coffee is good.

Great for Skiing

The room, pool, restaurant/bar were great. Must bring a bathing suit to use the pool & hot tubs. WiFi is poor. None in the room. Often you can not get on in the lobby area. Breakfast is usually better. Since it was the end of the ski season, they had made to much on Saturday so by Monday you were eating 3 day old French toast or frozen waffles that were not heated up. Eggs were very good. Plenty of cereals. OJ was not working. Must have been trying to force people to drink up the cranberry & apple juice.

Good value stay

The inn at snowshoe provided comfortable living space for 2 while we snowboardes for 4 days. The shuttle up the mountain was convenient. The hot tubs were nice to soak in after a day on the slopes. The free breakfast was pretty good too.

Ski trip with my daughter

I thought the inn at snowshoe was a very nice place to stay! Shuttle to the mountain was good. Very clean, breakfast was excellent! Staff very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would change are the pillows. Not very comfortable. Will be coming back next ski season!

Great for the price

This is far cheaper than what is offered at the resort up on the mountain. Rooms are big and comfortable. Food is so so and expensive, but everything is way over priced at Snowshoe. There is a shuttle service from the hotel to the lifts every half hour. I recommend staying at the inn

Inn at Snowshoe

the room was comfortable. I loved the shuttle service, I liked having breakfast included. Nice hot tub. The price was good. They were short on staff, which I think affected the quality of service. They were going to clean our room but it was after we had gotten back from skiing. Since we were in the room we just asked for clean towels. I also felt they were short on help for breakfast. The dining room could have been cleaner. The french toast was so hard I couldn't eat it.

Inn at Snowshoe - Gives Adequate a Bad Name

I wanted to like the Inn at Snowshoe. Unfortunately, its reasonable price didn't quite mitigate the overall shoddy and loveless environment. The entire building was permeated with an odd and unpleasant odor that seems unique to low end motels long past their sell by date. The room however was spacious and adequate, and on the positive side, the staff really seemed to be trying but were clearly swimming upstream against flagging facilities and lack of resources. At the low end of the experience the included "breakfast" was truly revolting and remarkably every single item on the buffet was both unattractive and inedible. We were forced to buy a box of cereal and some yogurt at the local gas station market.
