Clean but sparse.

Good location, sparse but clean, rooms need upgraded. I only stayed two nights but I was comfortable. Rooms really need a mini fridge.

Will do in a pinch

Was visiting daughter at OU in Athens, Ohio and there were no rooms available anywhere... not even in Lancaster where I've stayed before. This was a shorter drive than Lancaster from Athens, easy to get to, the room was clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable, the front desk was cheerful and there is a waffle next door for breakfast if you are so inclined. Good experience!

Disgusting

I have stayed in several of these hotels over time because they tend to be inexpensive and allow pets. However, when I booked this single non-smoking room (without my dog) I expected the same consistency in quality as I had experienced in the past. I was HORRIFIED at the conditions of the room. I have honestly NEVER seen a filthier hotel room in my life and I have stayed in all kinds of establishments from 5 star hotels to hostels in Europe. There were stains all over the carpet, the wall was marked with black smears, the room smelled of stinky wet dog, and the comforter had yellow stains all over it. I couldn't bring myself to sit down or take off my shoes let alone sleep in the room. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Good room for price.

I didn't expect a 5 star hotel when booking this room, I just wanted a decent place to lay my head. The rooms look like they have been updated in the not to distant past. They room was small but very clean. The free wi-fi I couldn't pick up in the room I was in (one of the reason I booked there). No premium movie channels so I hope you like watching infomercials late at night. The staff were very nice, quick check in and checkout. I'd stay here again if need be.

Just what you'd expect

It's a Red Roof Inn, so you get what you'd expect. I was there to run the Parkersburg half marathon, so the location right off the Interstate and close to downtown was great. I've stayed there before and it was quiet (which is something you want when you have to get up early in the next morning and run). The staff was very nice. My room didn't have a TV remote, but the lady in the front office gave me hers, so everything worked out.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

If you have some time, drive on Rt 7 downtown. They have some great Victorian houses there and look to have some interesting stores. Everyone I met was very friendly.

overnite visit to Parkersburg for business

Good location. Quiet and tucked away from heavy traffic. Clean room that smelled good, although coffee pot and hair dryer would have been a nice addition. Over all a pleasant experience.

A Place To Sleep

Hotel had received a fax concerning our pre-paid online reservation, but took quite a bit of time trying to figure out how to apply it on their computer - something about the confirmation code having too many digits. Otherwise, this is a basic place to sleep if you are on a longer trip.

Quick two night stay

The hotel and staff are not bad for the price. The staff was nice and friendly and I felt if I needed something they would have been happy to help. The hotel could just use some sprucing up. There was some grout missing in the shower, the comforter is very low quality, sheets not too bad. The TVs are old and mine made a very strange sound that almost drowned out the sound. Not a bad place to stay for a short visit, I have stayed at other low cost hotels in the area and this would be on the top of that list for sure.

Nightlife tip: Short drive from hotel

There is only one alternative club in the area now, in the past they had three. It's in a safer area of town than the the previous one.
