Not worth the discounted price.

We had to travel to the area for my grandfather's funeral. I choose the Comfort Inn specifically because with two adults and two children a spacious, comfortable room is important along with a continental breakfast because we do not like to leave to try to find breakfast in the mornings. We arrived at the inn in the late evening, I immediately noticed the welcoming lobby with the center firepit. It was warm inside even though it was probably about 6 degrees outside and snowing. I was greeted at the desk by a kind clerk (Kelli) I believe, who promptly checked me in. We carried our luggage to the second floor (no elevators) to our room. I immediately noticed the musty smell of the hallways that was no present in the lobby area. Although I tried to ignore it because I was trying not to drop my bags up the huge staircase to get to my room because somehow this inn has been allowed to get away with not installing an elevator on their premises. When we got to our room, the smell disappeared thank goodness. The room was spacious, but not quite as spacious as when I think "Suite" We had booked what I thought was a king suite with a whirlpool. What we actually got was a large floor spaced room with a king bed, no whirlpool. Kelli informed me it was a business suite. On my part, I didn't call to complain because a regular tub is sufficient enough when you just got off the road after 4 hours, driving in a snowstorm and subzero temperatures. The bed was VERY comfortable and the heat worked quick enough to take the chill off our room. The following morning, we got ready for a long day with family .We had to be at the funeral home at a specific time, so I got my family ready for breakfast, which I was told was from 6am-10am. We arrived at about 8:45am. The lobby that was warm and inviting the night before was now FREEZING cold! The firepit was going, but if I had to guess, the front entrance door being right at the breakfast area was keeping the room from getting warm. There appeared to be construction workers or truck drivers of some kind in and out of the building so I can see why they couldn't keep the room warm. There was no one present at the front desk, just what I assumed was a housekeeper standing in a circle of construction workers as she held onto her mop and associated with them. I went into the area where the continental breakfast was supposed to be. First thing, no cups for the three option juice maker, I move onto the cereal...pour it into my bowl, grab the milk container, no 2 milk, ok, I'll have whole then, oh, no whole milk either. Hm. No milk anywhere, but PLENTY of cheerios. Move onto what looked like a food warmer, that was supposed to have meat or bisquits in it for what appeared to be gravy for bisquits and gravy. Opened the warmer, NOTHING. Fruit bowl, EMPTY except two fermenting bananas. Okay, waffles it is. Yes there was waffle mix at the waffle bar, a little watery film sat on top after you pour it into your cup, but that was our only option at the moment. I made the waffles, took them to my family and headed over to the front desk to request cups, milk and some bisquits for the bisquits and gravy. There was a boy at the desk that I wouldn't have guessed worked there had he not been standing behind it. He showcased a heavy coat and an athletic beenie as he was most likely as cold as us. As I started to list my requests, he pointed at the woman surrounded by construction workers and gripping a mop, as she tuned into my requests she immediately cut me off as I was talking to the desk boy and said "EXCUSE ME, IM THE ONE YOU NEED TO BE ASKING, WHAT DO YOU NEED?" Now those words don't look too offending as you are reading them, but they are offending when you are hearing them come out as condescending, rude, and apparent I interrupted your conversation with friends. I started to list my requests to her and midsentence she interrupted me and said "so we need supplies." She replenished the cups and milk.

A Comfortable Stay

The staff was so helpful. Somehow I got lost in this college town but the desk clerk talked me all the in. I was a little disappointed being in an old smoking room. The Health Department called ll rooms to be nonsmoking and with time I was told that all the damaged and burnt comforters and chairs would be replaced as well as the carpet. I appreciated the snack machine when I got there, because I did not want to go out on that very cool late evening. And the breakfast bar gave me a choice of a hot or cold breakfast, with lots of coffee and a wonderful fireplace in the middle of the room made ;me feel cozy and lazy. Love that combo!

Disappointed

Our romm did not have enough towels. We stayed two nights and our room did not get cleaned on the second day. The room was very expensive because it was the game weekend for the college team. it was not worth the price.

Reasonably Priced for Area

Priced less than other hotels in area. Quiet location, however looking rather worn and could stand a remodel. Safety latch on door broken, faucet in tub leaked and carpet was badly stained. It was a double room and one mattress was totally worn out.

No Room @ the Inn

After a long day of traveling, my business companion and I arrived at the hotel to find that it had been "overbooked". The staff directed us to a nearby Golf Resort, where they had "re-booked" us. While I appreciate them for honoring the room reservation, both my business associate and I were considerably less than pleased to be re-booked to a hoitel that was unable to honor our booked special requests and - much worse - whose Internet service was in name only (think: Internet thru a cocktail straw). This was, after all, a BUSINESS trip !

Accepts dogs

Room was good. Had to twice request one with a microwave/fridge. Charge $10.00 for pets of all sizes. [...]gave best price. We paid a lot more there last year by booking directly with Comfort Inns.

Overnight

Got to the hotel after drive 15hrs. The clerk gave us our room key and we went up. However, the room was already booked and someone else was in the room. So we had to get a new room. I went to take a shower and the shower was covered, like FULL, of hair. Like a man shaved and it was never cleaned. After finally showering I tried to fall asleep, however the walls were so thin I could hear my neighbors TV all night. Over all, not clean and hardly any sleep.

mismanaged

[...] The hotel was overbooked by 14 rooms. Some people had made their reservations MONTHS ago and could not get rooms. I felt guilty because I knew I was taking one of their rooms. The poor people at the hotel had no idea of what to do. [...]
