Fairfield Inn, Charleston, WV
Staff was friendly; room was very clean, amenities were as promised, no more, no less. Workout room was very basic, but guests of this hotel are permitted to go across the street to use the workout room of the hotel next door, also owned by Marriott. High-speed internet was free and reliable, I used my laptop for six or seven hours without any interruption. Only problem I had: hotel was somewhat difficult to find coming off the main drag - signage was minimal. Area seemed generally safe and was your typical urban setting.

Friendly staff, comfortable bed, decent free breakfast, that's about all you can ask for at a reasonable price these days, and the Fairfield Inn certainly delivered. Plus warm cookies at the front desk! Not a lux property by any means, but well cared for and certainly well located for business in downtown Charleston. Two tiny complaints: the television remote was a pain to use and the use of an exposed hanging rod rather than a closet or etagere made the room feel cheap.

Long walk from hotel
Pack everything you need. After 7:00 the nearest decent meal is a good long distance. Same for drugs and sundries. The mall is about four blocks away, but not good as a convenience store!

The staff was polite however the hotel in general needs to be upgraded. I understand this is non-smoking facility however the room had an odor that was slightly offensive. The wallpaper was dull, dark and uninviting.

This hotel was too far from the Mall, and the Civic Center where the ballet recital was held.

Good Stay and Friendly Staff
I enjoyed my stay at Fairfield Inn by Marriott. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. Only thing that would make it better is if they had an indoor pool and hot tub. The pool and hot tube are seasonal. Other than that we had a pleasant stay!

A great stay for a short trip.
While I was attending a conference for school, I stayed at the Fairfield INN in Charleston, WV. The hotel was a good place to stay at, the only thing wrong that I would say is that the keys for the door were very sensitive and had to be constantly recharged. Towards the end it was becoming an issue. Otherwise no problems.

The capitol market is a great place to visit, especially if you are there during the summer.
