updated and pet-friendly with a pool
We love this hotel and stay there often when traveling to Charleston, WV to see family. We especially like that it is pet friendly and has an indoor pool and hot tub. Unfortunately, during our stay there was a group of workers with big trucks that filled the parking up each night and left no other parking. Also, the pool itself could have been cleaner and the hot tub seemed really dirty. While most of the staff seemed nice enough, the night guy was a little gruff and unattentive. It was a bother to him if you needed anything from him or had a question. One night, I went out late to a nearby grocery store and when I cam e back I tried to use my keycard on the front door only to find that the front door was unlocked. When I then walked through the lobby, the night guy BARKED at me across the lobby, "You don't need to use your key card. The door is unlocked." I hadn't asked and was already inside so it was rude - especially the abrupt manner in which he said it. Regardless, we will return to this hotel because we like it so much. The biggest suggestion would be to improve cleanliness in the pool/hot tub areas.

Short drive from hotel
Leonoro's is a great Mom & Pop type Italian restaurant on West Washington Street. It's been a long-time family favorite and has great food in an unpretentious setting.The easiest way to get there from this hotel is to get on I-64 W and take the State Capitol Exit 99. At the end of the exit ramp turn LEFT toward the State Capitol. At the next street make a RIGHT onto West Washington Street. The restaurant is about a half a mile on the LEFT.

not so clean
I thought it may have been okay for like a 2 star hotel, or a best western, but not for the price we paid for this room. There were pieces of styrafoam that looked like they had been chewed on under the bed, and the ice bucket had standing water in it. I wouldn't even get close to the coffee pot, and the room, bedding and sheets had a pretty funky smell.

Pretty Good
Room was nice and clean Pool was small( ok to play not big enough to swim laps) But the hot tub was enjoyed! Staff super Friendly! Breakfast was good but small area so get up early over all we Loved it and will stay again!!
