Wedding Anniversary Weekend

My wife and I have been going to Charles Town / Harpers Ferry for weekend getaways for about twenty years. By far, this was ... the nicest place we have stayed. The staff was friendly and professional. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The shuttle to the track, which ran every ten minutes, was convenient. The only negative was no pool, but this was more than offset by the great fitness room and free hot breakfast.

The hotel was very nice. Good size and clean. It wasn't next to the races and slots but they have a shuttle running all day ... and all night. The only problem we had was in the morning and it was really a problem with Orbitz more than the hotel. Our Orbitz paperwork said checkout was at noon and a little after 11 we had someone knocking on our door asking us if we were planning on staying another night since checkout was at 11. Orbitz might want to keep up with their information.

Very nice hotel

We had a very nice stay. We were on the 4th floor with great views of the racetrack. Staff was very friendly and ... accomodating. Although the hotel was completely booked, it was very quiet. Never heard doors slamming or any noise from hallways. This was our first stay here and we will definitely be back!

The location was great. We could see the racetrack from our hotel window and that was really neat. We made a trip to the ... Casino but we weren't that lucky and we really weren't that impressed with the slot machines they had there. We also prefer a smoke free environment and it was hard to find machines in that area. We had lunch and dinner at the Casino and that was real enjoyable. The buffet was really good.

We enjoyed our time at Charles Town, great relaxing room, Bedding was spa style, hotel comped us 1 dinner at Casino/race ... track, won a little money at the slots and enjoyed our time there. Hotel provided shuttle to casino & race track Would definitely stay here again. Booking through Orbitz saved us about $60.00 per night over regular rate!

Let's Do It Again

We did not have time to use or view the fitness center or the pool but we certainly hope to use them when we go back to the ... hotel. Everything in the room was first class. The hotel is close to where we wanted to go (Charles Town Races) and the free shuttle service was a real bonus. The breakfast was unbelievably wonderful and free (or included in the price of the night's lodging) and the helpers were cheery and efficient even though the room was crowded. The outside dining patio was a nice touch. The hotel staff was very patient and helpful in sharing information. The Inn would be a great place to call "headquarters" while traveling around West Virginia. Granted the Inn at Charles Town is less than a year old and they are working out the kinks (such as elevators that were not functioning) but it was a wonderful place. We would go there again and recommend it to our friends.

When booking, be sure to book The Inn at Charles Town. Friends of ours booked The Inn on their own and got Knight's Inn -- there appear to be several Inns around that area. Unfortunately for them, all the rooms at the Inn at Charles Town were fully booked.

At first me and wife were irritated they did not honor rm rate online. But the mgr was able to look at my print online so ... we pd $180 instead of $161. Service was great. Room Service would have been better. My wife was scared of the shuttle experience, me too. Kind of disappointing. Hot Breakfast was okay you need more glutton free foods and make sure eggs are hotter and donuts fresher and coffee stronger. Plasma experience was great. You charge too much for pay per view. thats robbery. Our romantic trip to atlantic city was better. Maybe the Inn should offer a romantic packages. plus 100 tickets for slots and buffets and gift shops and horse racing. thks.
