Skyline Hotel was nice and well located if you're going to Mt. Olympus park

This hotel is very clean and located right across the street from Mt. Olympus and next to other major attractions. Its about a 5 minute drive from downtown, or a 30 minute walk. Breakfast ended at 930am, which we missed everyday as we were on vacation and didn't want to wake up. This was the only downside.

If you stay here during the summer months, make sure you have breakfast supplies in your room as the hotel does not serve the continental breakfast at that time.

Needs an overhaul..

The hotel staff was nice as described. The location is really close to Mt. Olympus, within walking distance for sure. It was part of the deal breaker since they were offering free tickets to the park. The room that we reserved was not available, so we got a 2 queen in the motel complex. The problem was that the pool was being renovated, and therefore to use the pool in the hotel building you had to go outside. That day was way too cold to be wet outside, that I actually was really not happy about. The hotel overall needs an overhaul. Everything works, but the thing I missed the most was climate control that you see in most hotels. The air is not circulated continually, and I literally had to get up at 3am to put the AC on, but then it got cold so few minutes later had to get up to shut it off. The staff again was great. The breakfast was not served after 1st of May, which is highly misleading, but we did get a discount card to a local diner. Very kind, but it shouldn't happen in the first place. Overall it really was "the best bargain in town" but you get what you pay for. If it wasn't for the tickets, it would not be my first choice.

Ski trip 2011

Overall I can say this was a nice place to stay. 2 friends and I went skiing for the weekend in February 2011. We got to Devils Head, which is only about half an hour from the hotel, first and then checked into Skyline around 8-9pm that night. All of the staff that I met was very nice. We got to the room I rented which was spacious and from the looks, clean. There was a large mini fridge and microwave, which was nice. The bathroom was kinda small though. Beds were uncomfotable, but what hotel bed isn't. TV was small and outdated. I had a hard time closing the blinds all the way and we were on the first floor. I didn't get in the pool/hot tub, but it looked nice. Very close to all the action of Wisc dells in the winter, which is pretty much nothing. I think that this is more of a summer town. We went bar hopping in downtown dells the first night, and then to Cruisin Chubbies the second, short and cheap taxi rides and had no problem getting into the hotel at 3 in the morning. Which I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Free waffle bar in the morning with donugts, cereal, etc. I would have no problem staying at this hotel again but next year ill probably try something different just for the heck of it.

Great location

Overall I had a great expirience at this hotel. The staff were very accomodating and friendly. And the location could not be any better. It's directly across from Mt. Olympus and a about 2 miles away from down town wis dells. The room we stayed in was clean and the microwave and fridge was great to have as well. I am planning on visiting Wis Dells again over the summer, and is most def. considering staying at this hotel again.

A good value for the money!

Hotel was conveniently located and was pretty clean. There were a few noisy guests walking thru the hallway but that is not the hotel's fault. If you want breakfast, make sure you are before 9 A.M. because they tear it down shortly after that time. Overall, I would stay at Skyline again.

DISAPPOINTED

Breakfast buffet wasn't anything to brag about! Also there were long lines blocking entrance to front lobby; disorganized and poor planning! Rooms: Beds were very uncomfortable with rock hard mattresses; we woke up with backaches! Pillows were worn and matted down. Towels were worn. Parking lot: Back lot too dark at night. Only one entrance/exit for lot; causing traffic jams. Front vestibule was very bad location for brochure racks; gets congested with guests entering/exiting. General: hotel is outdated, run down and wat too overpriced; even with the Mt. Olympus package included. Didn't appear as shown!
