Older hotel has seen better days. A bit messy, doors in common areas would not lock, loud at night

Driving thru

Made a reservation online and arrived about an hour later. The gentlemen at the desk was lets say there. Obviously either a bad night for him or just not a people person. He didn't have a paper copy of the reservation on hand. When I told him it was made on online he was " O Great" he shuffled off to find it and came back and typed for several minutes without a word. Defintately wouldn't stay here again

Last days of summer

The water park is the only thing that made the stay reasonable. We waited 30 minutes to check in and 2 staff just sat at the counter while two others checked in guests. We got one Dells savings card at check in but had to ask for the others advertised as part of the room, and the cards were right next to the hostess. The room was dirty with food under the bed, needing updating, and we never received extra towels when we called the desk. This hotel charges $1.50 per day for the in room safe. You can ask for the charge to be removed, which we did, but we couldn't get a receipt "because we booked through this online travel site." Oh, and after check in we had to visit the concierge desk for the parking pass, but it was really for them to give a sales pitch to tour some upgraded rooms. The whole experience felt dishonest. I hope they upgrade the property with a staff and service makeover so the excellent water park is more enjoyable.

Our family enjoyed ourselves.

We have 5 children and, because of the late decision to go to Wisconsin Dells, had to book 2 rooms. We where there on a Saturday night in August. No other hotels or motels that I could find allowed only a 1 night stay on weekends in August. Both rooms were a king size bed with a pull out sofa. With taxes we paid $331. When my husband checked in he had to pay the resort fee of $8 a room. The room my husband, 9 yo son and 6 yo son shared was clean and comfortable. The room our 10 yo daughter, 4 yo twins and I shared wasn't well vacuumed. Both rooms did show their age. The carpet in my room was well worn where the pull out opened to. The beds and pull outs where comfortable. The pool areas were clean, but again showed their age. None of these issues were big enough to bother any of us. My husband checked us in. He didn't have any trouble and it only took a few minutes. He had called a couple days ahead of time to ask if there was early check in available. He was told there wasn't, but we were more than welcome to use the waterpark if we arrived early. Unfortunately, we were unable to arrive early. After check in we were sent to another desk to hear about the upgraded condo rooms available. I believe this would be a timeshare type thing. We were told about how they are at the begining of upgrading all the waterpark/pools and rooms. Would we like to take the tour the following morning for a $100 from the hotel. We said we were leaving early in the morning and would not be able to do the tour. We were at that desk for maybe 5 min. The kids loved the slides, little kid play areas, the deeper pools and lazy rivers. My husband and I loved the hot tubs. There was barely ever a line. If there was, it was at most a 2 minute wait for your turn. The only time it was busy was after Noah's Ark closed. We played in waterpark for about 5 hours and I never heard "I'm bored." I had read that there weren't enough towels around the pool areas. We took beach towels with us, but I saw plenty of towels in the inside waterpark and pool areas. Overall, we were pleased with our experience. We don't travel much. If fact, this was the first time our 6yo or 4yo twins ever stayed in a hotel. This is why I didn't mark the value better. I know looking at other hotels in the area that it was in line with the others, but I still have a hard time paying that much no matter where we would have booked. We were looking for something our little kids would enjoy and we found it. I don't think we would have used the passes for the other waterparks even if did have more time to be in the Dells. My husband and I liked that it wasn't sooo busy that we had to be in constant fear of our kids getting lost.

Terrible, dirty, new management did not care

Upon arrival we found out that the hotel had been in forclosure for 3 years. The hotel had not been maintained. Hottubs not working, game room closed most of the time, part of indoor water areas not openned, changing area and public restrooms dirty, mattress terrible. New owners took over 2 months ago and were joking about disrepair and state of hotel

Sad, tired...

The room was clean...someone forgot to leave soap and shampoo in our room, though present in others. Outside areas were nice for younger kids and lifeguards helpful. Evidently this property is being allowed to deteriorate. Personnel were quite friendly.

Depressing; needs complete renovation

Although our room was "non-smoking," it reeked of cigarette smoke. The only positive (?) was that the cigarette odor partially masked the other funky smells lingering in the room. The front desk refused to move us; they claimed the hotel was full. They placed an ineffective ozone machine in our room and changed the sheets, but offered no compensation, let alone a sincere apology. The furniture in the rooms is mismatched, everything is dated and the mattress had loose springs poking into our backs. The TV was at least 15 years old, so I suspect it has been at least that long since they have updated anything in this hotel. The waterpark is sufficient for younger children. Lines were minimal, which is notable because lines at Mt. Olympus, Wilderness, etc can range from 30-90 minutes on summer weekends. Also prepare yourself for a full court press from the timeshare salespeople. The hotel holds your parking permits hostage until you speak to them. In one word, the whole experience was depressing. I left thinking I could not help but feel sorry for the people tasked with selling timeshares at this dump.

Needs updating

Overall the hotel needs major updating. As a family of four a new coat of paint in the entire facility would probably go a long way. Apart from the peeling paint evident overall at this hotel. The rooms were fairly clean. The grounds were not/evident by the overflowing trash. It was probably rehabbed in the 90's. but it needs major upgrading. Hotel staff will try to push a timeshare or condominium purchase will at your stay. I would probably recommend to all that travel to wisconsin dells to avoid the sales pitches and stay elsewhere.
