Mayflower Motel & Suites

My 2 kids & I have not been able to afford a vacation in over 7 yrs. We were in desperate need of at least a mini-vacation. It was all we could afford to do. Our motel was quite disappointing. I give it 2 stars because there were a couple of things that stood out to me as the only good points about it. The indoor pool was AWESOME!! My kids & I had so much fun in that every day. The 2nd was the late night maint guy who came to our room & quickly completely replaced the AC that had not worked from the first night we were there. He was so nice, helpful, & got the job done so fast. THANK YOU, Mr. Maint Man. So sorry that I did not get your name. You deserve a RAISE!! From the time we walked into our room the first day, it was very disappointing. The AC didn't work right, the lights between the beds didn't work, there were hardly any tv channels, the bathroom was always insanely hot, there was candy & used dental floss picks on the floor from some other guest, the beds were the most uncomfortable that I'd ever slept on, the hallway door was impossible for myself & my daughter to unlock (my son was the only one who could unlock it), no hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes while we change clothes & shower, the room was just so run down & outdated with such a very OLD feel & unkept feel to it, and they offer zero continental breakfast. We would never stay there again & would never recommend it to anyone else. As I said, we waited for over 7 yrs to take a vacation & this motel was just so disappointing after waiting for a vacation for so long. My family has been through so much in the past 7 yrs that we really needed to enjoy ourselves, but the time we spent at this motel was stressful. I have to say that we did enjoy our little private patio/porch area, though. We had to eat every meal out there as the room was just so hot & unbearable, so the porch came in quite handy.

The room that we where assinged had problems with a very slow moving drain in the bathtub, we had ankle deep water while taking a shower the water was extremely slow to go down the drain. Then the A/C Unit was not working properly, we had it on High Cool from the time we got in the room and it never did cool down the entire night. So I told the front desk about it and they let my sister & I change rooms. In the new room the toliet was leaking at first every time you flushed it, it was bad enough that I had to place the trach can uneder the toliet tank to catch the water so it did not get all over the floor. The A/C seemed to be working a little better that the first room but it still was kind of warm over night even with it being on high cool. Also this new room did not have any drinking cups, we only had the container for the ice. I found dried up food laying on the floor between the bedside table and the bed. They must not have cleaned the room good enough the last time they cleaned. Three years ago when we stayed there we where in the Mayflower II, and that room was very nice, but I think the Mayflower I needs to be updated it seems like the A/C units are kind of old. When ever we go to the Dells we usually stay at the Mayflower, because it is very convient and the staff is very nice, but this last time was not a very pleasant stay.

We were at the Dells to attend a wedding at one of the other big resorts ($200 per nite). We chose the it because of price. It was located on the main strip. It has three pools. One indoor and two outdoor. It was opening weekend and the outdoor pools were not filled (it was still too cool). The room was clean, plain jane, outdated in color, but had a microwave and refrigerator. The rooms take you back to the old Wisconsin Dells, but definately had everything you needed. The indoor pool was large, and had a whirlpool. There was a gaming room for the kids and a laundry facility (lots of washers, dryers and ironing board with iron. Your room does not have hair dryers, iron and ironing boards in the room. You will not get lotion, conditioner and lots of bars of soap, but I had my own. the shower had liquid soap in the shower. All in all we enjoyed our stay and if you have a family and a short budget it was a great place to stay. We had no problems checking in or out having used [...].

Waterparks

My husband and I went during the week for two nights. It was very quiet, but we were there in Octorber. It gets very noisy at the Dells in the summer. Walked along the Riverwalk in the downtown area, which was very nice and peaceful, and quite beautiful. We also went to Ho-Cunck Casino.

We really liked the hot tub. The room was OK, we got what we paid for. The only problem was that the tiles on the shower walls were moldy.

We left at 230am due to a fight two rooms down. Police were called and a guy was tasered. We asked for a refund and left.

We spent most of our time outside our room sight seeing and went to a water park. For the money spent on our room we did not feel the quality met our standards. The trip was very expensive for a one night two day stay. Had we stayed a whole week this trip would've cost us more than our all inclusive 8 day stay in Jaimaca.

I really thought it was a nice place-you get coupons to use in the Dells But the only thing that I noticed was that ALL the other motels give you FREE tickets to the water parks.The Mayflower does not,they could also need to add some trees or some color to the pool area,it was to blah.

The motel room was super clean and quiet.. a little outdated but for the price it was worth it. I wish I would have had time to go in the tanning bed and use the electric massaging table but with all of the things to do in the dells we just didn't have time. The location was great and I will definately return to this motel!!!
