Substandard

Outside impression is good, but hallways are dark, dreary, and dirty. They couldn't make keys that would work for the first room I was assigned. During my stay, room keys stopped working. Breakfast items pretty minimal, and always out of something, including coffee and coffee cups. Hallways and room poorly vacuumed. One hand towel was the only linen in the room when I first checked in. Fitted bottom sheet was so shrunken that it popped off one corner and was enormously difficult to reinstall. One time, male lobby clerk was on the phone when I walked up -- he couldn't be bothered to greet me, and slowly completed an obviously personal call before seeing what I needed. On the good side, it's a great location, and a great price. Both ladies working the front desk were helpful and cheerful. I won't say don't stay here, but know what to expect.

Days Inn

I spent one evening here, pretty much just a place to sleep after a night out, so I am unable to give any review of pool/jacuzzi.They did have tanning beds, something I had never seen at a hotel before. I didn't use them though. The hotel seemed to be under some remodeling. The gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful, even at 3:00 in the morning. The hotel was a little maze like but with the help from the guy at the front desk and map it was not a problem. Slept well, shower had hot water. The sink had alot of water pressure, just had to be careful not to turn it all the way on. As for the complimentary breakfast I was pretty disappointed until I had asked someone to restock everything. I got to the breakfast area around 9:00 and everything was gone, both juice dispensers needed to be changed. The waffle maker spray was no wear to be seen to peoples waffles were stuck to waffle maker. I had asked one of the staff to refill and restock the room. She and another girl came and restocked everything, by then it was a little late, but better late then not at all, the people after me hopefully had a better experience. All in all for the time I spent there and the price. I would stay again. I am pretty easy to please.

A place to sleep and Free WiFi!

The staff from front desk to housekeeping and maintenance treated me WELL. Had some lamp and plumbing problems that I had front desk and housekeeping look at, and it was fixed when I got back. The location is on the outskirts of town, so brisk walking to Walgreens and McDonalds is possible. Beyond that, either walk the 1 or 2 miles uphill or drive to the waterparks. I usually drove to everywhere. The biggest problem that I have, is their keycard lock system works too well. Had to try my key 5 times at different speeds at the outside access doors and my room for it to work. They are in the middle of replacing furniture/remodeling the rooms to be all smoke-free, due to state wide smoking ban that went into effect earlier in the same month. Hopefully they can fix the keycard system later. Free WiFi is a plus when had to take a break in the late afternoon and during the early nighttime thunderstorm. Great for checking email or casual browsing. Keep it mind it's an unsecured connection. Unless you want to pay up to the secure connection available. They do have the free fix yourself breakfast of the basics from 6-10AM. The waffle iron is very popular. Just pick your spot in line and go for it. Matter of waking up in time! Note that they do allow pets, so you'll be around a few dogs and their owners outside.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

It's in the area of most attractions, walking distance to Walgreens and McDonald's if you need something right away. Short drive through traffic for attractions.

OK for the price

Room was OK for the price. A few minor things in the room needed fixing at a later time. The strike plate on the door needed to be replaced. While the door did lock, there was movement in the door when closed and locked. One curtain panel needed to have the hooks/traverse rod repaired. There should be screens on the windows, especially for the rooms on the upper levels. Minor issue -- There was no replacement of the coffee, tea, or soap (and the bar I had was taken) for my second day. As I only used the room as a "home base" while I was in Wisconsin Dells, it was fine for my purposes. I would stay there again.
