bare bones
No pool. Breakfast was spartan. Pillows were not comfortable. If you just need a place to sleep a few hours, it's fine; but you may want to look elsewhere if you want some nicer amenities.

Short drive from hotel
It is 1/2 mile from the high school where my kids had a soccer tournament, and it was inexpensive.

Very good value
The price was right. The room clean and the staff was friendly. No excess noise during the night. The breakfast was a little weak but again for the price, adequate.

Good for the Money
Overall the experience was good. I believe you get what you pay for and this certainly was the case here. There was an open drywall crack by lower baseboard by hottub and cracks in edges of ceiling. The location was good, next to a grocery and liquor store, and minutes from Granite Peak. The room was clean, heat was inconsistent but adequate. Had to call maintenance for a clogged tub, but they were there quickly to fix it. Continental breakfast was fine too, and they quickly filled the empty coffee.

served its purpose
Was in town on personal business. Was quiet, for the most part, had some kids partying the last night. I would stay again, if I were just looking for a place to sleep. No pool. Not much of a dining area. Just basic amenities for sleeping...not much more.

Decent place - BUT - hard beds!
We were there for a basketball tournament....so sleeping was our primary reason for the room. With that in mind...the beds were WAY too hard. My boyfriend described it best: "Notice how when you sit on the bed it doesn't move or give at all?!?! It's like sitting on a table." Our first night I did a lot of tossing and turning due to the hardness. The second night I slept great - maily because I was so tired from not being able to sleep the night before. With the negative part done....the staff was great, the room was decent and the location was great. Shopping: There is Shopko right next door; along with a grocery store. Downtown is VERY close to the hotel! The other surrounding towns are just a hop, skip and jump away with getting onto 17th St to Bridge St and then hopping onto HWY51. We really enjoyed the location. Note to Days Inn....get new beds and then you'll have a nice hotel!!

Inexpensive and Clean
I selected this hotel because it was cheap and previous reviews had said it was clean. It met both my expectations in this regard. If you're looking for somewhere to stay while you ski or board at Granite Peak this is an inexpensive option. Don't look for much in regards to amenities. But as previously stated this place is cheap and clean and a quick drive from the mountain.

Beware!!!!!
The room was disgusting. There were cobwebs from the ceiling, stains on the bedspread, the phone was so nasty that I did not even want to call the front desk to ask for a refund. The alarm clock was even gross. In addition, it also smelled rancid! This is a hotel that you can live in for only 499.00 a month. We could not believe that Days Inn allows this to represent their company! Needless to say, we left and stayed at the hotel across the street, which was nice!!!!

Good location
We came to Wausau to snowboard at Granite Peak. The hotel is about five minutes from the mountain and is everything you would expect from a typical motel like Days Inn. The rooms were spacious and clean although we found a pair of boxers underneath a bed. Other than that, this Days Inn was a great motel and was rather cheap in comparison to others in the Granite Peak area. Everything was close and there is even a grocery store right across in case if you need to buy something. I wish there was a hot tub but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.
