Pleasant
The trip was very nice - Door County is beautiful. The only concern we had is that there wasn't much for security like some of the new hotels have.

Great potential - poor execution
White comforter was filthy and stained - obvious it hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. Pictures from website are misleading. Room smelled of mildew and mold; sinuses started acting up within hours of arriving. Bed had 2 wheels at the foot of the bed and the 2 at the head were missing causing bed to be on a slant. Had to remove the wheels at the feet to level it out. Staff was nice and the scenery is great. Jet ski and boat rentals at the location. Quiet and peaceful. Sturgeon Bay is truly an All-American small town. The scenery and people are great. The restaurants, ice cream and coffe shops abound and are of good quality and pricing. We just wish the rooms at the hotel were nicer and better cared for. Not worth the rates until some renovation is done. We found another hotel - Sunset Beach - a bit farther south from Sturgeon Bay; the rooms were half the price and had similar amenities. There are better places to stay for less money if you do your homework before trusting a website. Too bad, since the staff was friendly and the location was great.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Sonny's Pizza in downtown Sturgeon Bay is awesome - the stuffed pizza is incredible. The Applebee's is the nicest one we have ever patronized. We typically avoid Applebee's but this one was great. For a good "Mom and Pop" style breakfast or lunch, the Morning Glory restaurant is a few miles south on 42, but worth the drive. I recommend the Western omlette special on hashbrowns and covered in cheese. We ate there every morning but our last day, which we regretted missing after a greasy plate at a Perkins down the road. You must get downtown to the local restaraunts, coffee shops, candy stores and ice cream shops!
