Disgruntled in Iowa
Nice room but got ripped off!
[...] However after making the reservation, realized it was not guaranteed for late arrival. Only way to fix was to cancel and redo. Super8 says you must cancel 24 hours before arrival which was before I placed the reservation! So I was charged twice for the room. What a ripoff! I will never stay at Super8 again! Other motels allow cancellation up to 5 PM on arrival date.

Comfortable stay at a good price
No frills here, but didn't need or want any. Price is right and the rooms are quiet and clean. Good place to lay your head while you are in the area. Staff was friendly and courteous, and the breakfast was good. What more do you want in a hotel? This is not a destination by itself, but it is a good place to say while enjoying the beautiful Prairie Du Chien countryside.

Good price for a nice room
The lady at the desk gave us a tip on where to get good pizza, which we were in the mood for. We were on our fall leaf-viewing trip so it was a convenient location.

Large comfortable rooms
The Super 8 Motel in Prairie du Chien was far beyond my expectations. The room was very large with two arm chairs and a table, plus a large 4-drawer dresser. The bathroom was also very large with a long counter which gave us plenty of room for our toiletries. The bed was very comfortable with nice fluffy pillows. The motel had an extended continental breakfast which included waffles, rolls, cereal, juice, etc., and there was a nice restaurant right next door. If I return to Prairie du Chien, I will definitely request to stay at the Super 8 again.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
It is only two miles across the Mississippi River to Marquette, Iowa where the Isle of Capri is docked. It is a 3-decker casino with wonderful food.
