Magic in Milwaukee

What a wonderful hotel! Captures an era gone by yet operates in a contemporary manner. Great food, great lobby bar, great Blu bar, spacious hallways and rooms. Charm + more charm. Thank goodness the Marcus family persevered the tradition.

Nice, but not worth the cost

Our room had dirty water glasses. You had to pay for wifi in your room. The headboards were damaged, making me think twice about if they actually washed the bedding. Parking was incredibly expensive and for the cost of the hotel, should've been included or at least a lower rate than $27 a night. The fridge didn't work and the outlets were very limited for such a large room.

Didn't give us the room we reserved.

We prepaid for a lake view king room, and got a room looking inland on the tenth floor with two double beds. They did give us vouchers for food and drinks at their bars and restaurants, but it was aggravating that I had to point out that we weren't given the room I paid for. Only after complaining did they give us the coupons. I don't think I'd ever stay here again.

Beautiful grand old hotel. Coffee in-room did not work -- made a mess -- but we got two free coffees as compensation.

Mr Huglon

This was hands down the best hotle in Milwaukee. Our room was amazing, the decor and cleanliness 5 star. The staff was pleaseant and gracious not over bearing. The breakfast at the Cafe Pfister was great no complaints thanks mostly to our waitress Marisha she made sure our meal was perfect and checked back often to be sure we had what we needed, great representative for your hotel. I would gladly recommend the Pfister Hotel to all my Friends. Saw Aretha Franklin at the State Fair and was blown away, great fair grounds and historic music by the Queen of Soul.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Just outside of the Pfister Hotel are a lot of small shops. My wife and I visited a number of the clothing boutiques. The staff at the small personal shops were gracious, welcoming and greeted you with a smile even if you did not make a purchase. If you are a gentleman visiting Milwaukee stop by the Sophisticated Man Clothing Shop, 322 East Wisconcin Ave. The husband and wife owner operated business was a thrill to shop in good products, great conversation and patient. I highly recommend it.

The hotel room was awesome. The bathrooms were amazing. Just be careful of the elevator. Twice I got stuck on there b/c I couldn't get the card to swipe.
