Great location for Pabst Theatre

Nice location in downtown Milwaukee. We stayed in the business suite. Room was clean, and spacious enough.

Experience Was Ok

Check-in was supposed to be at 3pm, we arrived at 3:45 and were told it would be an hour wait and they took my cellphone number to call me when our room was ready. We decided to come back after an hour because we never got a call. When we got back, they said they never wrote down my cell phone number. We ended up first getting into our room at about 5pm, 2 hours after our supposed check-in time. The couple next to me at 3:45pm were also told it would be an hour wait, so it was a larger issue than just our room. Not sure if they're understaffed or it was just poor coordination. The couple next to me when we came back at 4:45pm were told it'd be a half hour wait from then. When we finally got up to our room, our whole view was covered by a plastic sheet due to construction, so we couldn't see anything out the window, pretty poor experience overall for being one of the more expensive hotels downtown.

Great Hotel!

In the heart of downtown Milwaukee, great rooms, comfortable and nice design. Parking about $25 daily (too expensive for Milwaukee) Room service at night very limited

Ok, but not great.

The restaurant and bar at this downtown hotel are exceptional, however the rooms are dated and not what I expected. I would take the new Marriott or Iron Horse over the InterContinental.

Not what I expected from Intercontinental

Hotel was recently renovated yet sparsely decorated and the finished looked cheap and Holiday Inn Express-ish. Won't stay there again.

Very nice hotel, excellent location

All in all an excellent experience - check in was quick and painless, and checkout was even faster. Room was spacious and scrupulously clean. Service was quite friendly, down to the room service waiter I ran into in the elevator asking me how I was enjoying my stay and asking if there was anything I needed. The location is great, right on Water Street and next to the Performing Arts Center. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, and a well reviewed restaurant in the hotel that I did not try. I can confirm that the hotel bar has a very nice single malt selection. Parking is extra, which is not unusual for a downtown hotel - $25 a day.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Go to Water street and left (north) 2 blocks - many bars and restaurants to choose from.

Hard to review such a short stay.

I was just there one night so I did not get full feel of hotel or location as only in town for one day. The hotel has a modern but not agressively so look. There was a large curved desk in the room and a large bed and TV. Bed was a little soft for me but that may be a personal preference. I used the fitness center just for some floor exercises and it was good for me that it was opened 24 hours, but some might not like it there late at night without an attendent. The attendent was there early in the AM and throughout the day, however. The bar areas, there are several different sections, looked inviting, and there were several different areas in the lobby to sit and wait, or talk or work on a laptop, all of which people were doing, quietly. I consider it a value at the rate we paid, considering the hotel pricing climate these days. But I expect it is an expensive place if you do not get a discount.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Interesting, small outdoor cafes nearby, close to historic, very German Mader's full service restaurant. Starbucks across the street is convenient.
