A wonderful place to stay

The Ambassador Inn, across Wisconsin from the Ambassador Hotel, was the perfect spot for us. The ONLY drawback is that one has to cross the street between the Hotel and the Inn, and many Milwaukee drivers use Wisconsin Avenue as a speedway. The Envoy Restaurant has great food. The adjacent bar is very nice. Staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. The excercise room is well-equipped. The shuttle service is fast and free, and it enabled us to see downtown without having to cope with driving in a strange city or finding parking.

The Pabst Mansion is just blocks away. It is a fantastic, Gilded Age house, furnished with many original items. There is a fantastic collection of fine porcelain, notable Nymphenburg, Meissen, and KPM.

what is that smell?

The bedding was stained and questionable. The continental breakfast was definitely missing that special something as you would get in other hotels. The nice thing about this hotel was the location near downtown, although the surrounding area is very rough. The shuttle service was very convenient and very prompt to showing up when you call for a ride.

old needs updating

needs new matresses, carpeting, everything, not inexpensive for the age of the room.......furniture mismatched......last time there.......location only advantage......maybe the real Ambassador across the street is nice but this place is a dump....spend some money......rates are too high for the rooms......

Not A Bad Stay

The Ambassador across the street was way more expensive so i stayed at the Ambassador Inn and it was a lot nicer than I expected. There was a fridge and microwave which is always nice and the room was clean. When you first walk in to the building it is a bit old and you wouldn't expect the actual room to be as nice as it was.

Nice Place for Milwaukee Weekend

Great clean updated hotel for our Summerfest weekend! The rooms were nice, great A/C, mini fridge and microwave, in room WiFi worked great, new flat screen high def TV! Would book here again. The shuttle service from the Ambassador Hotel across the street was very convenient.

Convenient Location

Overnight stay for a Concert at The Rave. Only a block away from the Concert, we walked to Milw UW Campus while we waited for our room to open. (We were early). Room was average. Staff very friendly & helpful.

Decent Stay With Some "Reservations"

The overall condition of the hotel is lacking, patched repairs to the exterior, and the area of town is not the greatest, but the room was actually very nice, much better than what I would have expected from the outside. The sink in the bathroom was leaking and I guess that could happen anywhere and I'm sure they'll fix it, but I think they need to pay a bit more attention to maintenance and upkeep. Still the stay was very good and, as I said, the room was very nice.

Very quiet, clean place to stay!

Easy to find, right off the freeway. Close, free parking was great. Friendly, helpful person at the desk, making it a quick checkin. Room was very quiet, no street noise or other people around. Beds were very comfortable and smelled super clean. Room was clean. The only thing bad was the bathroom was alittle small.

Convenient Location, Good Value

Attractive Art-Deco renovated hotel. Not expensive, and very convenient for business in NorthWest Milwaukee. Great beds, nice decor, marble floors in lobby, nice bar/lounge, friendly staff. Easy access to major roads, highways. Convenient free parking. Expanded rooms in seperate building just across the street. Slightly more convenient if stay in main hotel. Located near Marquette University, Area not good for walking around near hotel, but they do have free shuttle bus to downtown.

A great overnight hotel.

Was attending a concert in the area and decided to stay here. It's not fancy but it was clean and reasonably priced. Also, it's reasonably close to downtown, Miller Park, and the casino. The only caution I would give is that the walls are pretty thin so if you have noisy neighbors it might be a problem.
