Average missing the Wow's
The room was average. Accommodating with mini fridge fully stocked with charges upon item removal (not my thing). The neighborhood is a little rough, making it uncomfortable for a traveler to walk anywhere.

Driving downtown on a Friday is difficult, no where to park with out a high fee (due to college activities). Driving is also difficult with many no left turns.

Three Great Days in Milwaukee
We visited Milwaukee with friends and we all agree that the hotel was wonderful. We appreciated the chance to park our car without extra fees and the opportunity to use the hotel shuttle made our stay perfect. When we return to Milwaukee for another visit we will not even consider staying at any other hotel. The restoration of the art deco lobby makes it a unique place. Our rooms were spotless. While in Milwaukee we visited the art museum, the Pabst mansion, the Domes, the public library, the Bronze Fonz, the Lakefront Brewery, the public market, the Third Ward and a number of good places to eat.

A Gem!
We were impressed from the moment we checked in. The staff was friendly, our room was quiet and the bathrobes were a nice touch. The unexpected bonus was free shuttle service. We had a rental car but decided to take the shuttle to the baseball game. Our driver dropped us at the gate and was there to pick us up promptly when it was over, saving us the hassle in a new city. Would stay there again!

Short drive from hotel
We're not motorcycle people but thoroughly enjoyed the Harley Davidson museum. There are historical displays about how the company evolved that were much more than just looking at chrome and engines which I had expected!

Marquette University 50 Year reunion
The Ambassador was the designated hotel for us out-of-town classmates. It was nicely appointed, clean, and , above all, friendly. They provided us classmates some perks like a room for our all-class dinner and the same room for a last breakfast. The shuttle service was greatly appreciated to transport us to and from events on campus, the Pfister, and the Santiago Calatrava Museum. In total--a winner.

Graduation Weekend
Room was clean and reasonable size for an older building. Getting items into and out of our closet was a real challenge due to its configuration in a tight hallway. 2:30 AM some drunken graduate family members started having loud conversations in the hallway -- that was a great night! Ate at the restaurant one night and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Had drinks and desert in the bar another evening -- also very enjoyable.

decent hotel, somewhat helpful staff
I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel because it was very near a concert that I was attending with a friend of mine. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and not too expensive. Free Wi-FI and decent food and bar. My only complaint was that they tried to bill me for food/drinks from the in-room mini-fridge that we did not consume. It worked on a sensor system so if you removed something, you were automatically charged. I moved a few things around to see what beverages were in the back, and ended up drinking 2, but was charged for over $70 worth of items because I simply moved them out of their spots to peak behind them. I had to leave very early (6:45am), so I asked the manager on duty to please remove the uncessary charges, and she refused, stating that she could not leave the desk, and that the charges would be taken care of at 4pm. I was uncomfortable with that because I would not be present when the manager checked the refrigerator. I stated this, and the manager was rude to me. I got the name of the hotel manager and plan on writing a letter. A bad ending to an otherwise decent stay.

Disappointed
The hotel decor was nice and the rooms were comfortable, but that's the best I can say. When we first arrived, the room was not ready. The college kids kept us up until 4 a.m. conversing loudly right outside our door and we were shocked to hear that the front desk had sent security up at 2:30 a.m. Apparently didn't do much good. My wife had to sternly ask them to go somewhere else at 4 a.m. The next morning we found the elevator doors did not work (we were on the 8th floor) and breakfast the next morning took forever to be served. Not a terrible place, but for the money we paid, we won't be going there again.

Nice
The hotel was average. If you like historical buildings or Art Deco Decor, you'd love this place. To me, it really didn't stand out from any other hotel. It was really convenient to be right across the street from The Rave where the concert was that we were seeing. The room was large for 2 queen beds and a pull out couch. I also felt it was on the more pricey side for what it was.
