College tour stop over
This hotel was average. Nothing special. We stopped here for a night prior to a college tour the next day. This is an old hotel and the room showed its age. The sink didn't drain very well so the water backed up some. The beds were okay, not extra comfortable, but comfortable enough to sleep pretty well. The cost was very reasonable for the short time we were there. They also had a continental breakfast that included eggs, sausages, waffles, muffins, bagels, toast, cereal, coffee, juice, fresh fruit. Didn't need anything special for the short time we were there. Was comfortable enough for a short stay.

Took granddtr to college and stayed over
This is our 2nd trip to Menomonie and our last hotel (EconoInn) we stayed at was horrible. It was very musty smelling and didn't feel clean. ****The staff of AmericInn were very friendly and it smelled so clean the minute you walked into the hotel. The housekeeper left a note wishing us a good time during our stay her name was Courtney. We felt very welcomed.

Tired Traveler
Not at ALL impressed
We stayed overnight with our infant before visiting family in a nearby city. Once we actually found the hotel at 8:30 pm (which is only accessible through the Econolodge parking lot), there was no one at the desk. We waited with our sleeping baby for about 20 minutes before someone (not the actual desk worker) came to help. The computers were "acting up" and the information that came up for our reservation was completely incorrect -- including our address and credit card number. When we FINALLY got into the room, it smelled musty and the entire floor was wet - not just a little damp, but wet like a pipe broke. When we asked the front desk worker if we could get a different room, she said they were sold out. However, after coming out a little later, we heard another worker inform a customer (over the phone) that he had a couple rooms left and he would hold one for them. We did end up getting into a new room, which was slightly better (they sprayed an overpowering perfume over the musty smell and the floor was only damp, rather than wet). We were VERY unimpressed with the whole experience and encourage patrons to keep looking before spending their cash at this hotel.

To get to this hotel, turn into the Econolodge parking lot and follow it around the entire hotel. This hotel has faded signs to lead you.

Busy but Picky Traveller
A very cute hotel.
This was a trip to do some house-shopping, and while we didn't need a luxury hotel, we're used to a certain level of comfort. The lobby area was quite nice, and the breakfast was very much above average. The pool was excellent though slightly busy. The room was clean, and there were several nice amenities above and beyond the usual. The staff were perfectly polite. Lots of parking. The only "drawback" is that it is EXTREMELY hard to find. Call ahead of time and get local directions. It is not where the postal address would leave you to believe and so Google Maps/Mapquest or a GPS would be of no help. It is actually behind another motel, and that motel is visible from the main road. So if you get a verbal explanation, there will be no problem.

The Right Place
I was taking my son to visit UW-Stout. After a 5 hour plus road construction drive, the AmericInn was a welcome place to stay. It was right off the expressway so we didn't have to drive around looking for it. The front desk staff was very helpful both at check in and check out. Room was clean and comfortable. My son even enjoyed the frozen pizza the front desk staff cooked for him later in the evening!

Hard to find
Noisy, especially at night. conversations and commotions in hallway carried into our room. Was awakened at 1:00 am and again around 2:00 am. Beds not the best, other hotels have better ones. room a bit small for 2 queen beds. Breakfast area quite small, although not crowded. Overall maintenance of the facility could be better.
