Expanded Cable Choices
There for business, but chose this hotel because of the channel choices on their TV. Versus and Speed channels were available, while other hotels in the Madison area use Direct TV and do not carry these channels. Channel choice was especially important to me as it is hockey play off time, and that is carried during the week on the Versus channel.

Nice hotel for the price
You get alot for the price at this hotel. They have a decent breakfast buffet, pool, jacuzzi and fitness room. The beds were comfortable except for the pillows, which I found too big. I woke up with a neck ache. There aren't varying pillows to choose from like many hotels offer. I was disappointed that housekeeping did not clean my room. I was told by the clerk that if they go by your room and you are still in the room, they don't go back to clean it. The rooms do not have a thermostat. There is a register you can adjust so once I got the right setting I was fine.

Buffalo Wild Wings if just off the Monona Drive exit, north side of the Beltline, in a strip mall with the Copps grocery store.

Great service for the price
We were in town for a wedding and the hotel provided great service and a shuttle to the event. Located outside of Madison but close to restaurants and activities. The front desk staff and shuttle driver were very kind and courteous. One caveat is if you have allergies you may want to ask for a room with new carpet. This used to be a smoking allowed hotel so non-smokers may not care for the smell but they are renovating so it's getting there!

Wonderful experience
Clean, spacious rooms...friendly staff. Only 10 minutes from the Kohl center, which was nice. We paid nearly 3 times the rate last year to stay downtown. Very good hot breakfasts, and the $10 each daily vouchers to the casino were great. I will stay here again!

Ate at 3 restaurants in Madison...Prime Quarter Steakhouse, Dotty's, and Pedro's...all outstanding local fare...well worth the effort to try these.

Great family getaway for the price
The room was very nice, but could have used a little bit of updating. The TV was kind of small, and some of the channels were a little fuzzy. Also, the bed was really hard. I like a firm mattress, but this was kind of like sleeping on boards. The lobby and breakfast area were real nice, I especially liked the all night popcorn. I was a little dissapointed with the price of the swim rings that was sold by the hotel. There was a price tag in the case that said $3, but when we were given the swim rings, they had a price tag of $1. Otherwise our trip was great!

Magnuson Grand Hotel in Madison Wisconsi
We were visiting for the Christmas holidays. The hotel was clean, quiet, and everyone was wonderful! I dealt with the evening manager, Aaron, who checked me in and gave us a room on the parking lot side where it would be quieter. He also gave us a room that had just gotten new beds so our sleep was AMAZING! The only problem, and it didn't affect our stay or our sleep, was that the toilet ran all night and the shower pull that makes it go from the faucet to the shower was really difficult to pull up. The soaps and shampoo were nice, no lotion but that is just being picky since many folks don't use it anyway, fortunately, I had my own... the towels were a step up from Motel 6, but not quite Holiday Inn, or "fine hotel" ... they were clean, not fluffy, but not abrasive. The staff was all very accomodating, since it was a major holiday weekend, that was nice! (no grumbling about having to work on the Christmas weekend) They were all friendly and joked and laughed with us. The breakfast was good...eggs, toast, Belgian waffles, bisquits and gravy or corned beef hash one day....I would have loved brewed decaf (again, I know I am a minority here since it seems silly to drink decaf in the morning, but I love coffee, just not the caffeine!), but made do with juice and water. There was a pool and workout room that both looked very inviting but we didn't have the time to use them. We did use the business center to print out flight coupons and that was really handy! I wasn't sure what to expect since we got an amazing price, but it was the best stay I have had in several years. Not only will I highly recommend it, but if I can get the same price, I will be back every summer and Christmas for my week with family.

nice hotel good price
Pretty lobby and breakfast area. The room was not fancy, but nice and clean. Breakfast was pretty good, there was a nice variety of food. No meat, but that's not a big deal to me. Used the workout room and it had towels and bottled water, which was nice. Would definitely stay again the price was great!

Nice stay
Easy to find right off the highway. Room was clean and comfortable. Went into Madison for dinner. Lots of places to eat close by also. Went to the casino right down the road. Wouldn't recommend that but we wanted to walk around and check it out. I would stay at this hotel again and I am fussy about where I stay.
