Hyatt Place Madison Downtown

Hotel is in a great location close to capital and restaurants, campus and shopping. Room was a good size, staff very friendly.

Stayed many times for business but this was the first family trip here. Sofa bed a great plus with me and my two teenage boys. Free wi fi! Free breakfast. Cozy pool. Three blocks from State Capitol and Monona Terrace. Able to cruise State Street and a pleasant walk to explore the campus.

I highly recommend this hotel. The room was very spacious. The TV was a large flat screen. The bathroom has a walk in shower instead of the typical bathtub/shower and was also very spacious.

Hotel was very nice, clean and situated close to the Capital Building. Had to stand in line at check in as patron ahead of us had lots of questions and demands, so had to wait quite a while, but front desk staff member was very polite and helpful, and when we finally got to check in, the process was very quick. Room was nice, very clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a bit of a free for all, very busy and several items were already out when we got there, but it was free and what we had was adequate. Good location, close to downtown and the University. Would definitely stay here again.

I booked this hotel for a weekend stay while looking for housing. I have stayed in many hotels across the country. This is the best hotel value I have ever encountered. Pricing is extremely reasonable, service is exceptional. Complimentary breakfast was very good and location puts you within walking distance of Madison's best attractions.

Would stay here again in a minute! Friendly and helpful staff. Walk to downtown and famous State Street Restaurants and Pubs. Parking is $10 a day...but worth it...nice convienent covered ramp parking. Would have given straight "5"'s on the stars but even though I didn't use it this trip...the pool area has no whirlpool. Also, they could use some more comfy pillows:)...otherwise, overall terrific!

The room was clean and the service was top notch. I had arrive long before I was scheduled to check into but the staff made me feel very welcome and found me a room. The breakfast bar is not to be missed!

The Negative: They charged us $10.40 for parking. One kinda expects free parking when they pay $150 for a room. The air conditioner/heater was very close to one of the beds and was going on and off all night, waking me every time. The Positive: Absolute great location. One would think it would be very noisy because of the busy street the hotel is on. The room was absolutely quiet. I did not hear the slightest noise coming from other rooms or from the street. Everything in the hotel looked like it was just bought. Absolutely clean. The room was very spacious. It was like a living room and a bedroom in one. The TV was huge. There's HBO. The breakfast was outstanding. Never had better breakfast at a hotel. Great variety. You could have anything you can imagine. I was especially happy about the presence of lots of different fruits - cut-up and whole. You never get that at hotels.

Great newer hotel in downtown with very comfortable rooms. Close to everything and a better deal than some other nearby hotels.

What a great place on the square in Madison!!! I highly recommend the Hyatt Place hotel. It looks brand new and the rooms are incredibly chic. The towels and linens are underwhelming when compared with the attention to detail throughout the rest of the rooms and common spaces. That not withstanding, I will DEFINITELY stay here again!!!
