Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel Madison

Free wifi, complementary breakfast and a great staff! I have stayed here every time I visit Madison; and I will continue to do so.

My family and i had a lot of bags and our room was on second floor with no close access to an elevator, so getting all our bags up to the room was bad. Then come to find out couldn't even get in the room once where at our hotel room door because the safety latch was on the door after two hrs. finally get in then everything started going like it was supposed to..so when check-out came we turned the keys in at the front desk and the receptionist awarded me a free night stay so that made it all worth while..

The computer with internet access in lobby was appreciated. The pool facility looked nice and had I taken my swimsuit I certainly would have given it some use. The Location was good for my needs with added bonus of a grocery store with late hours next door and metro bus stop within a block. The room was about what you'd expect and the whole place was a little run down, but my expectations weren't exceptionally high so I was satisfied with the experience.

It was comfortable, except for the loud heaters. Why those heaters have to be in the room below the windows is a mystery. They are so noisy. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

Hotel is fine. The rooms were comfortable. Two people in our group did not sleep well and did not like the beds. I found them very comfortable. The layout of the building is confusing and the signage in the hallways does not help. Pool is very good for this size of a motel but the spa is way to cold to be considered a hot tub. Most people just got out as there was not a hot tub experience. The curved shower rod provided more room in the shower but any swim suit hung up dripped on the floor. No kleenex in the room.

It's located near the airport, which worked great for me. The staff was very helpful (got me extra coffee for the room when I needed it) and the breakfast in the morning was prepared fresh! Not the cheapest in the area, but I good value overall.

Nothing fancy, but this place was nice, clean, quiet and close to the airport. A good place to stay for a great price.

We were very pleased with the way that we were treated while we were there. We only had an issue with one of the ladies that ran the front desk. Other than that everything was great. We look forward to staying there again.

Please remember this was over Christmas eve and Day holiday week-end. small problem with having no themostate to regulate heat, but no big problem,--realized that most staff had the day off. -- breakfast staff and menu -- especially the eggs could definitely have an upgrade and maybe the breakfast staff should be advised not to sing in the dining room!!! By far the biggest highlight of the entire 3 days at the motel was Victoria at the front desk. She was so friendly and helpful and when it really was impossible for the problem to be solved--she felt your pain. Wished I could hire her for my firm.
