Stunning lake views from Madison hotel connected to convention center
This great location in the heart of downtown Madison includes a climate-controlled walkway connecting the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace to the Monona Terrace Convention Center. Perhaps the only feature that can beat that is the stunning view of Lake Monona from nearly every corner of the hotel. Of course proximity to lively State Street, the University of Wisconsin campus and the capitol building are pretty nice too. Mull over the best features while enjoying dinner at Capitol ChopHouse, where 28-day aged beef and local ingredients steal the show.

Highlights
  • Complimentary airport shuttle (restrictions apply)
  • Connected to the Monona Terrace Convention Center
  • High-speed Internet access (fees may apply)
  • Direct access to Lake Monona Walking Trail
  • Indoor heated swimming pool

Rooms
Dressed in contemporary style, the guest rooms at the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace are spacious, comfortable and many offer phenomenal views of Lake Monona. Expect comfortable beds, large TVs with cable channels and high-speed Internet access (fees may apply) in all rooms. Upgrade to a Hilton Madison Monona Terrace suite for plush bathrobes, Jacuzzi tubs and the best views of the lake.

Features
Situated in the heart of downtown, guests of the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace enjoy easy access to Madison’s most popular attractions as well as a bird’s eye view of the beautiful Lake Monona. A climate-controlled walkway connects the hotel to the Monona Terrace Convention Center, but when the weather is nice hit the Lake Monona Walking Trail instead. When the weather is less than cooperative, try the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace’s heated indoor pool or well-equipped fitness center. The on-site Capitol ChopHouse offers plenty of ways to reward a good workout, with locally-procured ingredients and 28-day aged beef on the menu. If that doesn’t sound tempting enough, explore the many culinary options along State Street. There is more to do than eat, of course, with art, music and nature in abundance in Madison. Check out the impressive Chazen Museum of Art, Overture Center for the Arts or Olbrich Botanical Gardens, all of which offer a great way to spend the day.

Incompetent Staff, Poor Service.

Incompetent Staff, Poor Service. As an executive with a large telecommunication firm I will review this internally as well to ensure Hilton does not keep our account. Customer service starts with setting expectations, then delivering. If you make a mistake, then it's all about how you recover. The staff did none of these well at all. Including the management who is neither qualified nor empowered to do the right thing. My reservation was mishandled, promises made by the staff that then were not kept, even after being acknowledged. The rooms are not worth the rate, the amenities are minimal. The Hilton rests that they have a good location for downtown. Then they fall off every other category because of a lack of effort. If you need downtown locations, I encourage you to try the Concourse Hotel. I won't spend money at a Hilton again. Hilton Honors should be renamed Hilton Horrors.

I will definitely return

It was wonderful. The room was beautiful. The bed firmness was just right. Workout room and hot tub area clean. Everyone was great. The only thing bad about it was the hidden parking charges. Yes, I could have parked on the downtown street, but really..... parking is one of those expected things. If it will be extra, let me know up front. Breakfast buffet on Sunday was also very nice.

Good Stay

Staying at this hotel was generally a good time. The room was clean, they did a great job of tidying up our room while we were out during the day as well. Our bathroom was awesome - nice and spacious and our view was amazing, overlooking the lake. Mostly I like the location and the ease of access. Parking was pricey, even being a hotel guest, but it made for extreme parking convenience! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is in Madison for events happening at Monona Terrace. It was super easy and simple to travel in and out of the hotel to the Terrace and was also very easy to walk around the Capital Building in Madison. We were able to easily visit bars and clubs on Friday night and easily just walk back to our room. Good stay!

Alright

The hotel itself and the restaurants are great. I had the best steak I have ever eaten at the chophouse. Great view and comfortable room. Bath products are wonderful, as well. My only problems were that my door would not shut properly. I had to give it a good "hip check" to get it to close. Also, I paid for parking in the ramp through the hotel, which was $13 per day. The ramp is NOT made for an SUV. So, it was cramped, stressful and annoying to park. Most of the spaces were for "The Madison Club Members". The second night that I was there, there were no parking spots available. I ended up parking on the street, after it took me nearly 10 minutes to get out of the parking ramp. of course, ALL of the Madison Club Member Parking spaces were completely vacant.

PLS-CADD Training in Madison

Hotel was Great. My room was on the 12th floor with a wonderful view of the lake. Room was clean and the concierge recommended an EXCELLENT breakfast place. The staff here was on point. I wasn't really happy about having to come to Madison, but the hotel more than made up for the stay. Pool is indoors, but a little small. Fitness center is nice for the hotel size, got the job done.

You MUST eat breakfast at Marigold's Kitchen, they have way good food and the staff is really nice. Don't leave Madison without trying it. We were in town for three morning and ate breakfast there everyday.

Madison weekend

This hotel is located at a great spot. It overlooks Lake Monona, attaches by skywalk to the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Monona Terrace. Great restaurants and the Overture Center for the Arts are within easy walking distance. I added nights after my original reservations and it took 3 phone conversations and 3 visits to the front desk to get it sorted out so we didn't have to change rooms "between stays". The rooms are nice but "typical hotel" in style. The pillows and comforter were great. The rooms let in a lot of noise from the street and adjacent rooms.

Courteous Staff - Good Location

The staff was very courteous and helpful. There are many eating establishments within walking distance. During the Thanksgiving holiday, however, a number of them were closed.
