Extended Stay Deluxe Madison - West

A pretty good hotel overall and the price was right. However, the pillows were extremely uncomfortable and we encountered a couple of problems in the kitchenette. First, the sink became clogged after we tried to wash a frying pan. There was no plunger, so we had to just leave it that way and felt bad about it. The frying pan also was of poor quality--it somehow got burnt and we couldn't get it off even with the use of steel wool. The TV was great and so was the living area. Bathroom was also nice--great water pressure in the shower.

The hotel room was similar to a efficiency apartment perfect for one or two, full kitchen, couch and comfortable chair with a table for a desk. It was handy for saving money on food and a comfortable place to crash. Only problem was with the internet. I would go there again.

Very nice staff and clean room. Would recommend it for a location to stay when in town for a football game. Nice kitchen in the room.

My check in was 'late' (7pm) and the young woman at the desk was incredibly personable and helpful. About 30 minutes after I was settled in my room she called from the front desk to make sure everything was ok and if I needed anything (as it was, I had forgotten a few toiletrie items which they gave me complimentary). The room was immaculate and had a sizable kitchen stocked with basic cooking pans and utensils. There is a coin operated laundry, vending machines, nautilus equipment/weight room as well. Nearby to some places to eat as well.

The rooms were clean. The desk workspace was not large. There was one small desk. The furniture is budget grade but in good shape and adequate. The bed is not plush. The TV is a CRT. The Internet was wireless and fast. There is no housekeeping on the weekend nor is there coffee or breakfast on the weekend. You can get clean towels if you request them at the front desk. Monday morning coffee, fruit and bagel were just fine. The coffee is especially good. I would only recommend this hotel to a friend if they understood and were ok with the fact that there is not housekeeping nor is there breakfast or coffee on the weekend.

The room appeared clean enough at first glance. No smells: good. But the toilet bowl needed some serious scrubbing under the rim, the regular water that filled the bowl after a flush was yellow (rusty pipes?), and the bathroom floor could have been cleaner. We had a queen bed with a sleeper sofa for our teen son; there were NO bed linens for the sleeper sofa. We had checked-in and left immediately to meet friends before an evening football game, then enjoyed dinner with the friends afterward. Did not return to room until nearly midnight--that's when we discovered no sheets. No answer when I called the front desk. Had to go downstairs and practically BEG for the linens! The woman at the front desk wasn't very happy to have to deal with anyone at that hour. Even if the front desk hours are only until 11:00pm, I should be able to have something like this taken care of at least apologetically. I did not like her condescending attitude. I DON'T CARE HOW BUSY OR FULL THE HOTEL IS--I should be able to at LEAST have the linens in the room when I'm ready for bed. The queen bed mattress was VERY hard. But my husband and I were so tired at that point that it didn't matter, except that I sure knew it in the morning! All things considered, I would not recommend this place except as a last resort.

I like the top floor, so requested a non smoking room there. Unfortunately, the top floor has some smoking rooms and the smell infiltrated the bathroom fan. Otherwise, the room was fine.

This was a base for visiting The Frank Lloyd Wright home and grounds. We also visited Mineral Point, a Cornish mining settlement. We went in to Madison to dine in the evening.

It was a great hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were awesome!
