Extended Stay America - Madison - West

Nothing bad, just spent the night. Did not check out any of the amenities. No continental breakfast on the weekends.

Hotel was fine. The bathroom was a little bit on the lower end for hotels. However, everything was fine...just a plain hotel.

Was not the best hotel hair on towels pillows bad drain in bath sink very slow to drain just not a great experience.

It was one time that what I could do matched my plan and the hotel location and facility allowed this to happen

I attended a conference at a hotel about a mile from this hotel. This price was unbeatable...the conference hotel wanted double what I paid!

Check in took a few more minutes than usual because the girl at the check in desk was new. She was very friendly while waiting for the manager to assist her. I was surprised to see the cleanliness of the room and size of the Kitchenette for the price. Great location close to lots of shopping and restaurants. My only complaint is that the hotel hall smelled of ethnic food and the room key was a little confusing to use. Also the hotel is not in a super noisy location, but there was bad weather and the hail bouncing off the roof kept me up. There were also children running up and down the hall for a few minutes (neither is the fault of the hotel).

We liked the room, it was just the size we needed and I loved that if we had have been there longer we would have used the kitchen.

Worst Internet connection I have ever had to deal with and tech support was the pits. If I ever go there again it will be to soon.

I have to preface this review with the fact that this was the first time I'd ever stayed at an Extended Stay type of hotel. We were only staying for 4 nights, so maybe that explains why I was so surprised at how little you get here. Oh, one thing to mention. This particular location actually has 2 ESA's right next to each other. One is a regular Extended Stay America and the other is a Deluxe. Make sure you know which is which. Yes, the rooms are clean, decent sized, and have plenty of work space. They also have a full-size fridge, sink, microwave, and 2 electric burners for limited cooking. They provide a few cups, bowls, plates, pots and pans, but there are a lot of things they don't provide. For example, I was a bit surprised to see the rooms didn't come with any shampoo or a hair dryer. We were able to ask for them at the front desk and they did provide them. There were also no spoons in our room, which seemed a bit odd given all the other things provided. Also, the front desk seems to only be manned on a 9-5 basis and since we checked in late and checked out early we had to go through a hassle of paging the night shift and trying to explain to them what we needed. It seemed like an unneccesary complication compared to all the other hotels I've ever stayed in. Also, access to the internet is $5 for a week, but it worked great and housekeeping is only done for an additional fee of $5-$10 depending on how much they clean. Again, these may be standard practices for a long-stay hotel, but since I wasn't ready for them they surprised me. Overall, it would probably be fine for a long stay, but as a regular hotel it comes up short.

Check in was efficient and helpful. When the first room I was assigned had the smell of smoke, I was quickly switched to another non-smoking room. The rooms are large and well cared for. The construction is solid so noise from other rooms wasn't a problem. The room had a small kitchenette with full sized refrigerator. There was no pool or fitness center but guests can use the one just next door at a sister property. Overall it was a great room for the price.
