Quick overnight

The pool was great and the food was good. The staff was very friendly. Our bathroom smelled like vomit...maybe from the wedding the night before. The staff a did give us two free drink tickets and come and reclean the bathroom for us. The beds were small. Overall, it was a decent stay after things got settled.

The worst night's sleep ever!!

I was in Madison for a 1 night stay while attending a conference at the University. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza as the website had wonderful pictures and it was close to alot of resturants, shops, etc. The room I had was one of the worst, if not the worst rooms. The carpet was filthy and there was a huge circle cutout in the middle of the room that they replaced with carpet that was not the same color and didn't secure very well. There was a horrible, loud, and constant squeal of a noise outside the room. After 3 hours of this noise and 3 calls to the front desk along with a trip to the front desk, they decided that there was nothing they could do about the noise. [...]. Firs they said the noise was the dryers and that "in a few hours" they would shut them off (it was 9pm). Then at 11pm they said that they were still working on shutting the dryers off. Then at midnight the maintenance staff was in the ceiling of the hallway as the noise was not the dryers. After an hour of him making a ton of noise and keeping the whole hallway awake did they decide that they did not know where the noise was from. [...]. Their solution to the problem, COMPLIMENTARY ear plugs. I could hear the noise over the volume of my tv. At 1am I put the earplugs in, turned the tv volume up a bit (as everyone else was doing as well) and tried to sleep. Needless to say, 5am I was wide awake. I know that I am not the only one to complain as the rooms around me also did. It was TERRIBLE!! The managers did not seem to care about customer service. I will not be returning there and will not give it one positive review. I normally stay at the Double Tree by the UW and will be returning there in the future!!

Great business stop over by airport

Stayed at the Crown Plaza while on business in Madison. I picked it for it's proxomity to the airport and the relaibility of Crowne Plaza hotels. From the shuttle driver's friendly pick-up to the use of a dedicated business area for my early (4.20am) check-in, this hotel did not fail to satisfy what little comfort demands I had for a woman travelling on business alone. Clean, safe, excellent and friendly staff, just enough luxury to get past the expense report(!), a good wine selection and great fitness facilities; suffice to say I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was fine!

I always try to stay at Crowne Plaza's because I think they are great hotels set at a reasonable price. The staff was really friendly, the hotel was quiet and clean with really comfortable beds and the elevators were fast! There is a GREAT Indian restaurant close by -- Mahajara Restaurant. Really great food and friendly staff there as well. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at this Crowne Plaza.

Weekend Getaway

We didn't have time to do much, but they had a nice game room in the lobby next to the pool. We had enough time for a quick game of pool before check-out.

Great Business amenities

We were in Madison on business for two nights only. We found the amenities perfect for our needs - the wireless for the computer was excellent (according to my co-worker) and the staff was most helpful and pleasant.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

If you don't rent a car be prepared for cab fare. There is public transportation, but you'll have to go across the road to the Red Lobster or Denny's to catch.
