BEST WESTERN PLUS InnTowner & the Highland Club

The front desk staff were helpful &friendly. We found the room to be clean & bed comfortable! Enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet, there were many delicious items to choose from. The room rate was less than comparable hotels in the downtown area of Madison. We will definitely consider staying here.

Breakfast is great and shuttles services were very helpful. The only complaint I would have is that the wifi internet is a bit slow/laggy. Not sure about the ethernet line, which I didn't try. Location of the hotel is perfect for any business dealing with the University of Wisconsin campus.

I stayed here for med school interview at madison. It was perfect for that, close enough to walk, but also had free shuttle if needed. Do not rely on shuttle as it also makes trip to airport, so may need to wait one hour.

Great hotel. The rooms were very clean and felt like home. The staff were very helpful and polite. The only thing I'd like to say is that the shuttle is not quite reliable; they were 20 minutes late to take me to my interview. Thankfully, I arranged to be extra early, but nonetheless it made me very nervous. Otherwise a great facility, and love Madison!

Room had king size bed but bathroom only had one towel. No shampoo or conditioner in room either. Room heater unit did not work and it was below freezing outside. Coffee maker also did not work. Woke up in morning to room filled with smoke from a car fire outside our room. All I got out of this trip was a smoke induced headache.

Stayed in the Highland Club. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was better than expected, although they could have done with more staff.

Perfect for visits to hospital or UW west campus. Good value

The hotel front desk staff is exceptional. Their courtesy and willingness to help is noteworthy. Unfortunately, with rare exceptions, this is where the hotel staff's hospitality ends. I was especially dismayed at the cleaning staff's aloofness and sense of "this is just a job." Also, they left their room cleaning carts in the hallway on both nights of my stay, even though the cart storage room, right next to the three carts, was open and empty. Obviously, this makes moving luggage more difficult. The room was average, though the air conditioner was not in good working order, taking an exceptionally long time to cool. The icemaker, next door to my room, was exceeding loud. Overall, the price of the room exceeded its value.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before with my family and loved it. This time I booked my room and paid in advance. Because I am under 25, they placed an additional charge hold on my credit card of $20 per day for POTENTIAL incidentals which I did not incurr. I checked out of the hotel after my two day stay, and I am now having to contact my credit card company to dispute the charges that are still showingnup as a potential charge on my credit card. I feel that I was discriminated against due to my age.
