Nice place & convenient

A nice rather upscale place to stay in Madison. Convenient to UW campus just a couple minutes drive from the South Union. Parking is a bit cramped, and you may have to park along a curb or walkway instead of a space. Beds are big and very comfy. Staff is friendly and accommodating. i would definitely stay again.

Nice location for the Wis Film Festival. In between UW campus film venues and Sundance theater. Not as pricey as the hotels nearer State St.

Ideal when visiting UW Madison

Our family stayed at the InnTowner when in town for a conference at UW-Madison. It's walking distance away from there if you need to do without a car, or you can take a bus there or anywhere else in the city. We stayed there with our kids (ages 3 and 1), and it worked out really well. The indoor pool was very nice and well heated! It looks like a lot of improvements have been made to the hotel recently, and we enjoyed our stay immensely. It's much less expensive to stay here than at one of the hotels on the square around the capitol building.

Friendly Stay but Concern for Cleanliness

Our only complaint was about the snacks and medicine/candy (not sure which) our son found hidden in corners of the room. Medicine mistaken as candy by a young child is an alarming concern for any parent. We were assured that this would be addressed.

So So

For the money I paid the room seemed more like a motel. The bed was hard as a rock, while taking a shower the water was backing up so that I was standing in a half full tub, the room smelled like stale smoke. But the location is good and the breakfeast was good.

Great location for UW-Madison

My son is a freshman at Madison and I'll be staying here each time I visit him. The location is perfect - near restaurants, dorms, campus buildings, the lake walk. I stumbled upon it in the fall when I first visited him; now I'll plan on it. Front desk could have been a little bit more knowledgeable about local restaurants, but all worked out okay.

Good for university business

I've stayed here many times and while it's a little bit worn in places, it is very convenient to visiting the university and there's a number of surprising places to east on the near west side. Due to my schedule, I couldn't take advantage of the complimentary breakfast but it sounds better than most.

Close to my destination

I stayed at this hotel because of its proximity to a job interview that I had. I was pleasantly surprised. There was a free shuttle which picked me up at the madison airport. The driver was very nice. Upon my arrival I received coupons for a free breakfast. Breakfast was basic but good (oatmeal, cereals, scrambled eggs etc). I also had a great time going into the hot tub at night to relax. The beds were very comfortable. The only thing that could need an upgrade was the bathroom- the shower drain was clogged and the towels were not very soft. Overall good stay for a good value- especially if you need to be on the university campus.
