Howard Johnson Inn La Crosse/I-90

The room was clean and adequate. This hotel has gone to the tiny square bed pillows, which I find uncomfortable.

except for the mattress (that was just fine) the room cleanliness was every bit as good as the last Hilton I stayed in in Atlanta. (But, the Hilton had a memory foam mattress - my favorite)

the staff were just great. I needed to be gone every morning by 6:00 am, and they got breakfast out early to enable me to be able to eat so that I didn't have to go all day without food. When I needed paper work faxed, they helped. Made my life so much easier.

The location was ideal for my travel needs. Staff was helpful. Would stay there again if I was in the area.

Continental breakfast was lackluster in a cramped space. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. i wouldn't recommend for more than a one night stay.

I stayed here while I attended a family reunion. I didn't spend much time in the room, but the room was clean and the staff was very friendly and attentive. It's not the Ritz Carlton, but if you want a clean room with great staff, this is the place.

This was a busy weekend in LaCrosse, so reservations were difficult to get. However, had I known that this Howard Johnson's was very old with few updates I would not have stayed. The breakfast room was too small and very crowded and everything had run out 1/2 hour into bfast hours. The fishermen joking with each other at 5 am while loading their boat 1 window pane thick from my bed were scared to see my uncombed head and grumpy face look out. Staff was not easily found.

Booked for 2 rooms with 2 beds in each, because of screw up, received 2 rooms and 1 bed in each.

Good service from the staff, but the odor from the smoker rooms was nauseating. I don't think our room was a smoker room, but because of a mis-aligned door, the odor easily seeped into our room, making our room (and clothing) smell like cigarette smoke. Filthy.

We were amazed at how small our bed was. It measured 4 feet wide. I went to talk to the manager. She told us that because we booked on Orbitz, she would have no control over what size bed you received. Three other couples were with us and slept in larger beds. They also booked on Orbitz. The manager also stated that they lose money on people who book on Orbitz and they really don't like customers using this avenue. The rooms are too small and the halls and rooms smell of smoke.
