For $50, I can't complain

Would recommend Tue, Nov 10, 2015
The hotel was pretty good for the $50/night we paid. Room was clean. Loved the 24 hour hot tub! I would stay there again if I was on a budget.

Pleasant Stay

Would recommend Thu, Oct 29, 2015
We were in town for a memorial service and needed something close to La Crosse. The hotel was nothing fancy, but comfortable and clean. We booked here because nothing else was available. The rate was a little high for the amenities, but everything in the town was higher than in most locations and room availability was not good. It's location was convenient to other facilities. We never could make an internet connection as the password screen never would come up. I would stay here again under similar circumstances. The free breakfast was good with a variety of choices. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Overnight visit

Would recommend Tue, Oct 27, 2015
My daughter and I made a quick overnight trip to La Crosse and stayed at the Econo Lodge. The staff was friendly, the room was tidy, we had the jacuzzi to ourselves and the continental breakfast had exactly what we wanted. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

The room was hot and dry. Opened windows to a bad stench outside. Could easily here walking traffic on 1st floor hallway and outside with wi dows closed. Bed king size very hard. Sore backs.

Disappointed

Would not recommend Wed, Oct 14, 2015
The room was small, the bed was small, and Wi-Fi was difficult to access. Light bulbs were burnt out. Not the kind of room I expect when staying at a Econo Lodge.

Just Ok

Would not recommend Mon, Aug 11, 2014
I stay in La Crosse a lot, so I'm familiar with quite a few different hotels. This one was just ok - it was clean and the price was good, but I wouldn't stay here if you plan on being in the area for more than a day. This was all that was available last minute on a busy weekend so $75 was not bad but this hotel is super old. Everything was worn out and faded - the decor REALLY needs updating. The room seemed clean enough but stained with age, giving it kind of an unpleasant, musty smell. They offer a hot tub and continental breakfast, but just based on the age/state of the room I wasn't brave enough to try either. Still, for the little amount of time I actually spent in the room to just sleep - it was comfortable enough.

Phenomenal Experience

Would recommend Sun, Jul 6, 2014
Had a phenomenal experience. Hotel was clean, comfortable, and most pleasant. It may not look like much on the outside but the accommodations were great! John (if I remember his name correctly) is the clerk I believe mentioned in a previous comment who knows La Crosse like the back of his hand. He was most informative on sights and points of interest around the entire area. All the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. The only issues we had was the kleenex holder falling off the wall the first time I pulled a kleenex out and the the towel rack in the bathroom fell apart when I went to get a towel after my shower. Of course one of the greatest features is the 24-hour hot tub. After 8 hours (and approx. 300 miles) riding on the bike followed by fireworks and Riverfest, we could not have asked for a more perfect way to unwind and relax before finally getting to bed. We just wish we could've stayed longer but don't worry....this hotel is on our map to stay now and anytime we are going to go to La Crosse on one of our road trips we will be sure to stay here again.

Dining

Perkins....don't know if it was a one-time deal but our meal was the worst experience possible. The good thing is, we spoke to the manager and he ended up "comping" our entire meal. Eggs benedict over-cooked, ham was thin and only covered half the muffin, hash browns were under-cooked and only half the amount of what one normally gets at Perkins, waitress forgot to bring the coffee pot with the coffee cups, we asked her for more butter and hollandaise sauce only for her to forget that too so we had to get up and find a waitress to ask for the items again. Need to mention, the hollandaise sauce looked like a thin drizzle of butter and even the manager couldn't see anything that resembled hollandaise sauce. We like Perkins and have always had great experiences with them but this one was absolutely terrible in food quality, quantity, and service. We do have to give kudos to the manager for understanding our complaints and doing the right thing without any asking or prodding by "comping" our entire meal.
