personal, family-owned nice hotel

It was a nice, family-owned hotel with very personal service. We chatted with the owner while having our free drinks (offered by the hotel), and suddenly he offered to transfer us to the king suite without extra costs. Although the air conditioning did not work properly and was very noisy, the suite was very nice and big. The owner also gave us a restaurant recommendation ("Seven Bridges" - overlooking the Mississippi, great ribs!), which turned out to be very good, too. Everything else worked fine, although the hotel could use a little bit of refurbishing (painting..). And the location is right in the middle of shops, restaurants and near the Interstate.

A very nice place to stay!

This is a family owned facility that works hard to make you feel comfortable. They have a "cocktail hour" where you get a chance to meet the owner and other guests. The rooms were clean and the place was very quiet. A great place to stay in La Crosse!

It's Not Pretty

River cruise of Mississippi. My daughter received very little help after cutting her foot while at the pool. The hot tub water is murky. The corner of the room's wallpaper was tearing from the wall, not something that was unnoticeable. The complimentary drink of a Pepsi was not available as they had run out. The look of this place is akin to the Titanic before Leonardo was making his way to the top. I did like the owners wife, although perhaps if she displays less phone time & more room inspection time might allow her to remain on that phone a few days longer.

My review of Brookstone Inn

The Brookstone Inn was very comfortable, located in a convenient area, and had great service. This non-chain facility was close to restaurants and freeway access. In the evening they offered a free cocktail hour in the spacious lobby/community area. I used the pool and hot tub and both were clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend it to other travelers.

Hidden Gem

Brookstone inn was a great little find. I only stayed overnight for a wedding but the room was spacious and clean, even though I wasn't in it very long. Check-in was a breeze and staff was extremely friendly with a smile on their face. My room wasn't ready when I tried to check in (I was checking in early) and the woman behind the desk called Housekeeping and had them clean my room next so I could get in and get ready for the wedding! Extremely accomidating! The continental breakfast was adequate but with so many other options around the hotel to eat at, it's hard to compete. I was really glad I gave this unknown a shot. I'd recommend to anyone who is going to be spending some time in LaCrosse, WI.

My review of Brookstone Inn

Brookstone Inn was a nice place. It was a clean and the breakfast buffet was good. The rooms were old looking with old TV's. The lobby was redone, but the rest of the hotel was not. The pool and hot tub were clean. It was a pretty good deal for the price, but have had a few hotels that look a bit more updated. It was the only hotel I have stayed in for years that had real keys instead of a key card!
