Days Inn West-Eau Claire

I hate to be negative because the room was fine ~ comfortable size and everything. Breakfast was ok - not a huge selection, but adequate. Would have liked to use the pool and hot tub but it was emptied (In July?) Anyway...what I didn't like was the 'residential wing' people. It would seem the motel rents out on a monthly basis to low income, kids running around in diapers, hanging out on the back steps (right outside my window), questionable looking people hanging around at all hours.... so the 'atmosphere' wasn't other busy travelers, it was an uncomfortable, in 'their' space feeling. It would have been nice had it not been for the 'residents'...that way maybe they could have had the pool open ;)

Only was there to sleep & I needed an iron & ironing board and was none

Even though the hotel was just off the Interstate, the rooms were quiet. Easy to find, restaurants next door.

We stayed 3 nights and each morning we had to beg for more towels. They said they were always out of them which didn't make much sense. We stayed for Country Jam and asked the front desk staff if we could get a cab to take us to the grounds and still get our 3 day shuttle bus passes. They said it wouldn't be a problem but it was. It ended up costing us $15 more dollars for transportation than it should have.

I've stayed at this hotel before and loved it, but this time it was disappointing. We were missing a few small things in the room (ie:bag for the ice, bath mat, etc). The hot tub was lukewarm at best and didn't have enough water in it - the jets were spraying water way up above my head so it kept getting in my ears and I couldn't read while I was in there. It wasn't a big deal since I was only in the hotel after 8pm on Friday and left by around 9am Saturday morning, but for people who had to stay there longer, it wasn't all that great.

The location was close to HWY 94. Quiet hotel at a great price.

My family stayed here because of the location. It is an old hotel and it shows. The floor in my room was uneven (lumpy cement)and I almost twisted my ankle on it. It was uneven in cleaning - sink, beds and surfaces were spotless but the tub had hair and the carpet was so dirty my shower water would run grey for the first minute. Staff friendliness was again mixed. Front desk was great but my room server wouldn't even acknowledge me. My room was quiet but my parents and sister had rooms by the front desk and breakfast area and could hear the waffle iron timer go off from 6 am to 10 am. The bathrooms are very small and the sinks are located outside. If you are sharing a room and need the bathroom for privacy, you might want to think about staying somewhere else. There is about 8 inches clearance between the toilet and the door. The hot tub was hot and the pool kind of small but it was wet. It was what I would expect for what I paid.

The room was nice. I was surprised how big the whirlpool tub was, however, for a suite, the room wasn't really any bigger.
