Nice accomodations, needs better air-conditioning
Stayed in a street-view 3rd story room on a 96 degree day in Yakima. The room was clean & spacious. The pillows were way too soft but luckily there 4 of them that you could pile up (for one person...). The bed was very firm but at least it didn't squeak. TV was newer, the channel selection was awful (HBO blah : other then it being cheap, why does EVERY hotel subscribe to that station). The room stayed at 71-72 deg the entire time which is too warm : I had the AC down all the way but it couldn't overwhelm my western exposure wall & the sun. Lastly, I enjoyed the Sunday paper on my door step. I did NOT enjoy a lack of complimentary breakfast. If I pay 2x the rate of other hotels within 2 miles I would expect that a nice breakfast should be included, not a $11.95 add-on....

Car vandalism in parking lot
Loved staying at Hilton Garden Inn every month to visit family in the Yakima Valley, until last weekend's vandalism to my car in the parking lot. I checked out of the hotel Sunday morning feeling refreshed from our wonderful night only to find cars vandalized in the parking lot. One car had the back windshield broken. The empty parking spot next to my car had broken glass on the ground. My car had 2 dents in the hood and the trunk. I was glad my windows were intact and called the front desk after realizing the dents in my car after leaving the Yakima Valley. Front desk told me to call the Yakima police dept to file a police report and that the hotel manager would call us back. It's been a week and no one from the police dept or management has called us back. Upset that multiple calls to the police dept and hotel have gotten us nowhere. Will be sad to have to find another hotel because of this one incident.

Truly Wonderful Time
We used the pool and hot tub. Very nice. I kept admiring the tiled waves on the wall. Never been to Yakima, so we asked the Miss in front for some family friendly sites. She printed us directions to scenic areas and family restaurants. Very helpful, very friendly, and as always, Hilton is a wonderful place to stay.

Good
I was largely unimpressed. I think cheaper hotels offer better amenities and comfier beds for less. I expected more.

Hilton Garden Inn Yakima
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the American Grill, though the service there was more "all business." The food was good, especially the affordable breakfast in the morning. It was a buffet, but had cooked to order eggs and omelets. The room was clean and well-appointed. We also thoroughly enjoyed sleeping on the sleep number bed. Now I want one!

Don't miss the breakfast buffet in the hotel in the morning- a great price and delicious options including made to order eggs and omelets, oatmeal, waffles, and excellent buffet offerings. I appreciated that there were healthy options, like light yogurt and fresh fruit, available as well.

Hilton Garden Inn, Yakima, Wash.
I have stayed at this HGI many times. The service and staff are excellent. The facility was built in a former downtown shopping mall so the building is very solid with high ceilings throughout. Excellent parking at grade and below. The owner (franchisee?) is regularly present at breakfast. You can walk to some local restaurants or use the good in-hotel restaurant. The local neighborhood is fine for jogging.

Comfortable & Friendly
Allowed us to check in early by contacting the maids to clean our room next. Invited us to relax while they got our room prepared early so we could meet our conference schedule. Polite and accommodating. The Hotel is conveniently located right near their convention center. Restaurants are close too.

Best hotel in Yakima
We stayed here over the weekend during the Yakima Spring wine barrel tasting. We've stayed at other hotels in the past, but for now on we're going back to the Hilton Garden! The rooms were clean and looked newly decorated. The breakfast is not free, but you get what you pay for. This buffet is well worth the $11 cost. The only negative I could come up with is that there is some road noise from the highway, but it's not that noticeable.

Very nice hotel.
Only negative. Directions for getting on Wi Fi were supposed to be in desk drawer but weren't. Front desk person didn't know how to do it. Every thing else was good except the shower. It is open, which I initially liked, but that made it cold for every part of me that wasn't in in the water. There was no heat in bathroom. Room was nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and staff was very friendly and nice. Good cookies at front desk. Did not eat there.
