we enjoyed our stay
the key card ran out of operting after three days is the only problem we had and it was fixed in one minute.

Hot in Yakima
Courteous staff but....
We checked in around 6 pm and staff was very helpful in getting us a quiet room since there was a youth basketball tournament in town. We returned to our room around 11 pm and it was very warm. We turned the ac on and it ran for about 3 minutes and made a terrible sound and stopped. The desk said they'd have someone check it out. We waited about a half hour and no one came so we requested a fan, and again no one showed. We slept with the window open and by the time we got up at 5 the room was comfortable. The next day they did give us a new room and the ac ran but didn't cool any better than having the window open. At $130 a night I expect better.

Good enough
Good location, friendly staff, very clean, no smoke smell, lots of parking and reasonably well appointed. However, the toilet would run every few minutes, the refrigerator was very old (made in WEST Germany) and not very cold and the tv was old and had poor sound. My biggest complaint though is the mattress. I am not a picky sleeper but part of the way through the night by back hurt so badly that I had to go sit in the wicker chair for comfort! The mattress was unimaginably soft so that my back was bowed the whole time whether I was on my back or my side. Again, a very very friendly staff was appreciated.

The Waffle Caffe across the street serves up big tasty meals for a very reasonable price (we had breakfast only).

Basketball Mom
Older hotel
Attended the state 1A basketball tournament. Spent 4 nights at the hotel. The hotel was gracious towards the team and made them dinner one night, also allowing us to use a room for milk shakes. Our toilet had issues. A repairman replaced some parts, but it still constantly ran water. The microwave was gone and the stand was water damaged.

El Porton is a great Mexican restaurant. Mel's Diner has good breakfasts and is lower cost.

Good Bed, decent accomidations.
Stayed one night in town for business... at first looked a little sketchy as is not the best area of town, but we were nicely surprised.. room clean bed really comfortable. Would definatly stay there again, looks like they are in the process of upgrading accomidations.
