- All of our Deluxe Rooms, located in the adjoining West Wing of the hotel, have been carefully restored in the renaissance style featuring exquisite Italian crafted furnishings. Exceptional accommodations. Old hotel (Dwight Eisenhower stayed there) recently updated (walk in shower). It felt like they went the extra mile for us: 45 wedding anniversary included a free bottle of fine wine and desert at their restaurant.

Touring Walla Walla with Family
We toured Whitman College as well as the town. Great Toy Store, Candy Store, we loved Olive Restaurant as well as Sweet Basil. Cute gift store "Paris" theme. The room at the Marcus Whitman Hotel was not so nice. Bathroom toilet leaking, bathtub would not drain and there was a musty odor to the room, had to run the air/fan at all times to decrease the odor. I have stayed there before and was pleased. I don't know why the quality has changed, but it certainly has. To bad, it is a beautiful hotel.

Fun getaway
Nice hotel, great location, and the staff was wonderful. If I ever go back to Walla Walla I will only stay at the Marcus Whitman.

Christmas at the Marcus Whitman
The Marcus Whitman was a perfect place to stay while visiting our family and friends over the Christmas holiday. The staff were very gracious, the room was immaculate and the breakfast was superb. The lobby was filled with Christmas cheer in light filled trees, gingerbread houses and a crackling fireplace. The only thing missing was the jolly fellow himself and a few reindeer.

The hotel rooms are not very clean.
The hotel rooms are not very clean. On the first night, the area by the beds was littered with the remains of a trail mix and a lollipop stick. We moved to another room (more expensive) the second night. The lower part of the shower titles was covered with mildew. We expected something a a better quality for the price that was charged.

Cool building, rought towels.
The hotel is a nice upscale hotel in historic downtown. It does lack a few amenities like a pool, hot tub, or steam room. The rooms in the old tower are very nicely appointed. They need to spend some money to upgrade their bath towels. Theirs could have come from old hospital stock – rough!
