Silver Cloud Inn - Tacoma Waterfront

Pros: The location was stunning, Right on the bay, a walking path running right in front of the hotel. Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Nice shampoo. Plenty of good restaurants along the same road within short driving distance. I would definitely stay here again Con: Only thing that could be improved would be a little more parking and larger parking spaces. But the parking was FREE.

The Inn is in the perfect location, on the water with views of the sound. Our view was outstanding and each room has a view of the water. This place is easy access off the freeway, but is in the middle of quiet and in a natural setting. We watched the ships, boats and birds in the area. We were within a couple of minutes of the downtown museums. The Inn is older but very clean and has an updated interior. We arrived on a Tuesday and enjoyed the complimentary beer, wine and snacks. The breakfast was generous and included hot items. Fruit, coffee and tea were always available in the lobby. Walking along the pier and sidewalk was a quiet and beautiful experience. Within walking distance were many waterfront restaurants. We went to an early dinner and enjoyed a 3 course seafood meal for a very good price. The Inn staff was very friendly and helpful. This place is a 10 and we are going back. A perfect get-away

It was great! THe only down fall was that the shower head was facing the wall not the floor... I'm not sure why LOL!

My mother and I were visiting an aunt in a nursing home, primary reason for the trip.[...]I couldn't have been more pleased with the hotel, the only waterfront hotel in Tacoma, the Silver Cloud Inn, relatively small, staff very courteous and the view, spectacular. What pleased me was that often the packages result in one being given a room noone else would want, but this was perfect. Breakfast was very good, included, and two waterfront restaurants were top-notch and so convenient. The flight, car and hotel were perfect [...]

The hotel was very nice, clean and the staff were very pleasant. I used the wonderful running/walking park that is connected to the hotel. The breakfast was also very good.

Staff is very welcoming and helpful, rooms are spacious, very clean, modern and well appointed. We were even surprised to have a mini-fridge and microwave. Great location, walking distance to old town and restaurants on the waterfront, and just a couple minute drive to downtown. Free breakfast is also generous with eggs, sausage, cereal, waffles, yogurt, etc. This is my third stay here in the last 7 years and I would definitely stay here again!

Went to Tacoma so my husband could attend a cont. ed. course in Physical Therapy. The rooms were very clean, staff very friendly. Room cost a bit much, but had free parking, which was not the case with most area hotels that were nice, and safe. Within walking distance to a very quaint (sp?) old downtown shopping area. Great restaurants, walking, jogging area around hotel. Beautiful view of the bay, hotel sits on the water. Windows open for a great sea breeze. Very nice and restful.

Great location, great views, great people, great price, loved it.

As the pictures promised, the room had a view of the water. But what the pictures hid was the fact that they also had a view of the parking lot. We were so close to the parking lot that if we had the drapes open, people could watch us in our room. In addition to the room seeming a bit dated, it was extremely small. There was no way two people could get ready for the day at the same time. On a positive note, everything was super clean and the entire staff was very friendly and helpful.
