The rooms needed to be updated, it smelled like mildew

Inexpensive no frills
This motel is perfect for someone who just wants an inexpensive place to stay while doing something else in the area. We had a double queen room. The high speed internet was nice. The room is small, fairly clean, area was quiet. We were in Tacoma for State Wrestling Tournament and spent most of our time at the Tacoma Dome just returned to room to shower and sleep. Mapquest directs you to this motel in a round about way. Just take the Bridgeport Way exit and follow Bridgeport Way to Gravelly Lake Drive turn Left, then right on Motor Avenue and into motel parking lot. You can see the motel as soon as you turn onto Gravelly Lake Drive. It isn't as far off the beaten path as it looks.

Prairie State Bowling Tournament
It was a great place to stay during our support efforts for the Prairie Falcons at the High School State Bowling Tournament. It was roomy, clean and quiet. The breakfast was helpful (but sparse) as we were on a time crunch.

As Expected-reasonable price, no frills.
We were in town for a week to visit family of folks stationed at Fort Lewis. The location of the motel is close to malls and restaurants. There is a great bagel place next door and a Walgreens practically across the street. The price seemed appropriate for the room. Cleaning staff was friendly and accommodating. We stayed during a week where there was extreme cold and wind. Our complaints were the COLD bathroom floor, the cleanliness of carpet around the edges of the rooms, (they really need an edging tool for their vacuum) and the sparse blankets (sheet/blanket/sheet instead of the usual sheet/blanket/comforter). We compensated by turning the heat way up. A tree in the parking area outside our room lost a lot of branches during high winds on a Sunday. We left on a Wednesday and the branches still had not been picked up from the parking area. We had to park 3 or 4 rooms down from our room door so as not to drive over branches or get possible vehicle damage if more fell down. It served our purposes and we would stay again.

Most comfortable beds we slept in our whole trip. Walgreens practically across the street. Bank on the corner. Bagel place next door....fantastic bagels and coffee.

Convient location to visit Ft Lewis
This is a decent motel for the value for a family to stay for a short visit while going back and forth to Ft Lewis. It is clean and has wifi for internet. The neighborhood is clean and has plenty of locations for eating.

close to where we are visiting
The Best Western was fine for the purpose that it provided for us. The pool was close due to a inspection from the health department. When we checked in there was one clerk on duty and she not only tried to check us in but was answering the telephone at the same time. The phone calls seemed more important then checking us in. Overall it was average clean, people polite, and decently clean. We would stay there again. It's nothing great but, it does work for our trip
