Staff was very friendly. Neighborhood seemed nice. Room had adequate appliances but was fairly small. Breakfast was very simple all carb foods. The mattresses were very hard and after two nights we both had back aches.

A little outdated but comfortable
The room was comfortable, somewhat close to downtown and in a nice neighborhood. The TV and phone are about 10-15 years old, but I just needed a place to sleep and it was perfect for that. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

Best Kept Secret
A great motel. Right across the street from Sacred Heart hospital, The hotel has a large parking lot (no charge), friendly, helpful staff, and new, clean rooms with a view. My room had plenty of outlets for our gadgets. I had a microwave and fridge as well. Everything I needed, and lots of privacy. The folks at continental breakfast were Spokane friendly. Many people have family members who are patients at the hospital so they are getting to know each other thru their longer stays. I love this property! It is a straight shot to downtown and Riverfront park! And just up the hill hill and east the historic neighborhood of Rockwood Blvd with colonial and craftsman houses and estates with modern mansions.

Just up the hill is Manito Park, designed by the creator of Central Park. You will pass Lindaman's a yuppie restaurant w bistro dining and The Rocket Bakery as well as The Park Bench in Manito. There is St John's Cathedral, and west of that the historic neighborhood of Cliff drive with houses built for the mining and railroad entrepenuers of the nineteenth century.

The Madison Inn in Spokane
Only stayed over the one night but through all my years of traveling to Spokane, I never came across The Madison Inn. Off the beaten path yet within a short drive to downtown, there was something serene about this hotel that made the stay very comfortable. The furniture and decor was upscale and the color scheme in the rooms inviting. The TV channel selection was tremendous and the room had a mini-fridge/microwave. Continential breakfast was light and just outside the hotel, Quiznos/Qdoba/pizza.

Delightful surprise
We chose this inn because of its location near Sacred Heart Hospital where my husband was having surgery. It was a wonderful surprise and made going back and forth to the hospital so convenient. The inn is 10-15 min. walk to hospital. There is dining and shopping opportunities south on Grand Ave., a major South Hill street. The lovely Manito Park is just a short drive away. We took our small dog and the situation was great. There was a grassy area right at the inn to take dog for potty breaks. Housekeeping staff played with her and she got a biscuit every evening from 3 different clerks. Nice breakfast area, coffee always available, free pocorn in the evening. Was a nice area just to sit. It was a wonderful surprise and made our short stay so much easier to manage.
