Average hotel for minimal stay
This hotel was fine for the minimal stay. Be wary though if you get a room with a king size bed, hard as a rock! My other family members were in room with 2 queen sized beds and they were very comfortable.

Awful
Besides the used syringe in the parking lot and invasive homeless population, the staff was rude. When I enquired about getting to airport to rent a car. They called a cab for me that they set up a deal with and the cab reeked of cigarets. To top it off, I left at 10pm to catch a train home, (I paid the whole night), and when I get home I find that they had charged my card an extra 150.00. When I called to find out the problem, they accused me of covering the smoke detectors and smoking in the room with the toilet full of cigarette butts. I asked how this was possible as I stayed there for four nights with housekeeping every day. They just said that when they went into the room the day after I left, that is how they found it. I asked to talk to the manager, but apparently she only works three hours a day and does not return phone calls. I have not had resolution or contact despite repeated attempts. The staff treats you like you are interrupting their lives. The good part is that the brew pub grill across the street has great food.

a wonderful place to rest
The location is very central. Right along the main north/south street through Spokane. The front desk clerk was really friendly and helpful. My room was exactly what I needed. The bed was very comfortable with just enough pillows. (in most motels I have to rob the other bed for another pillow, or ask the main desk for an extra) Everything in the room worked perfectlly. The only thing I noticed was that there were stains on the rug. So...so what when everything else is perfect, and no big deal when the price was so affordable. It beat all the others by a long shot, and the best part.....was the pool! An awesome way to end a hectic day. I was there on a Wednesday night, and I was the only one in the pool!

Disappointed
We were disappointed with our 3 night stay at the Holiday Inn in Spokane. It was very run down, carpeting was stained in a number of places, the old spring mattress was very worn and the room had an odor (even though we asked for a non smoking room) and there was an odor reducer plugged in the wall which we found offencive.

This hotel was very gracious to a weary traveler :)
Our stay was great. After planning for a 2 night stay and then having to cancel the first night. The women at the front desk was so gracious and understanding of our situation. It was so nice to be greeted with a friendly face after breaking down in our automobile and not making to the hotel until the 2nd night. Thank you for refunding our first night and being so curtious and understanding.

The staff were very congenial. All seemed to be happy and interested in their work. Housekeepers were talkative and spent undivided attention to me when I was talking to them.

just like home
good place to spend a worthwhile trip for convenience, savings, service and safety...it just needs more experienced front desk staff to accommodate factual details on how to get around the city, cost of cabs, hours of travel from one place to another, recommend scenic areas, etc...
