Each guest room is decorated with overstuffed chairs cherry wood furnishings and custom pillow top mattresses with fine imported linens. The bathrooms feature large soaking tubs pedestal sinks and Italian marble accents. Charming hotel

Nice older hotel that has been redone. Beds are comfortable. Close walking distance to everything. The mall is just two blocks away. Although we didn't use it, they have a free town car that will take you to, or pick you up from anywhere within 5 miles from the hotel. The only thing that was not convenient was there self parking garage is a block away, but they do have valet for 5 dollars more.

Good Location for Jury Duty

I stayed here when I had to report for federal jury duty. It was comfortable and quiet. It is only located 3 blocks from the court house. The coffee cake and coffee was very good as well.

Great experience!

I love the location! Hotel Lusso is close to anything you could want downtown! Great restaurants all around, shopping, and movies all with in walking distance! The only thing I thought I was going to get with the Queen room was a walk in shower which it said on the web site the room would have it but it didnt. overall we loved the stay. The sunday brunch across the street was excellent!! so worth it!! we will be coming back again very soon!

Excellent value

I stayed here when it was first converted to a boutique hotel years ago. The room quality and amenities are even better than before, nice to see the place has been kept up. Equal to the Davenport across the street (which now owns the Lusso.)

Many great small restaurants in the same block, and if you need a full breakfast just walk across the street to the Davenport's café restaurant.

We love the Lusso and stay there whenever possible. The Bing Crosby Theatre is just across the street along with fine dining and shopping within a 3 block radius. It makes for a wonderful getaway weekend!

Nice BUT...

The hotel was nice BUT they don't offer room service. Also, don't do the dry cleaning provided by the hotel. We went to the front desk to pick it up and it wasn't there. Hours later the manager told us he could give us a max of $75 for the loss. Not even close Lusso. Fortunately, 2 hours before the wedding, the following day, they found our clothes. GEEZ!

Great Hotel

I recently stayed at the Lusso and was very satisfied with my stay. I was in town for a wedding and stayed 3 nights. Room was really comfortable and bathroom was spacious and clean. They had good coffee cake and coffee in the lobby for breakfast. It is right downtown within walking distance of the river and lots of great restaurants!

Affordable, but not comfortable

The staff was great, but the room was not what I expected. I had a Standard Queen and it felt tiny. The bathroom was disproportionately large, but for some reason had a tall moveable metal shelf - a little odd. There was a tiny window in the corner of the room, not centered, so the room had very little natural light. I was in town for a week for business and I just could not see myself staying there comfortably, so I switched over to their sister hotel, the Davenport Inn. Again the staff at Hotel Lusso was great, but I think the whole place just needs a facelift and perhaps some construction work to make it more comfortable.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The staff at Lusso recommended two places to eat and I got to enjoy both of them. Wave is a sports bar that has an awesome sushi menu and it was quite tasty, especially the seaweed salad (large portion though). Scratch is a restaurant close by as well and it was awesome -- had the mac n' cheese with seafood and the homemade ice cream, all phenomenal!
