Staff needs lesson in class!

My husband and I reserved & paid for a room online through Orbitz. I was looking for "pet friendly" hotels & this Comfort Inn came up. NOTHING was said about an extra pet fee. AFTER we checked in the desk clerk informed us we must pay an extra 15.00 (plus tax) fee for our 10 pound Pekengese "Gustave". I told her this was not disclosed when we paid online and we would not have reserved the room had we known there was an extra fee as we were already paying aprox. 85.00 for a sunday night room. This heavily tattoed clerk was very rude and in a snippy manner shoved a form at us and sent us on our way. We assumed we would not be charged as I made it clear we wanted a refund and would stay elsewhere if the undisclosed pet fee was charged. After our trip I checked my credit card online and lo and behold the clerk charged us 16.00 &some change for a "pet fee"! It took a couple of different long distance phone calls but finally the hotel manager graciously removed the unauthorized fee after assuring me the pet fee was standard and they would work to make it more visible on the orbitz website. Other than the rude tatooed clerk the night desk clerk was extremely professional and helpful. (nothing against tatoo's but a hotel clerk should look more professional &classy-perhaps a long sleeve shirt-"dress appropriately for the job"?) The room was average for the cost. The pool and spa was super and the breakfast was nice. As a couple who frequently travel with our pet from now on I will choose hotels that do not charge extra for pets. Most pets are cleaner than alot of people-to be charged extra when customers are already paying good money is ridiculous.

Favorite cheap spot in Spokane

I fly through Spokane and frequently have to spend the night because of long drive home and border crossing, so I've tried most of the cheaper places in Spokane. I think this is the best in 50-70 range..comfortable beds, quiet, clean. My only complaint is that the water pressure is a bit on the low side. It's a bit further away from downtown core but that's a plus in my book and it's easy to get to.

Disappointed

The king size bed was too large for the room, so they placed it on the side with a headboard. When my feet were over the edge and I am 5'8", I knew this was not acceptable. The room had dog treats that had not been vacummed, room service did not clean our room on our last day. They came that night when we got back to our room, brought clean towels, and took the trash. Room was not clean, animals were allowed and my eyes swelled and itched from allergies. Very disappointed, would never go back!

Good Stay

There for Hoopfest - Hotel in normal times, would be quiet and peaceful. Not close to downtown, definitely not in walking distance to any restaurants but for the price nice. Staff were very helpful in direction and offering information.

grate stay for the cost

The staff was friendly and rooms were clean and Comfortable. Other then it being on a one way street it is away from the highway and other road/city traffic noise. The breakfast was beyond what I was expecting for what I pay for.

We were there on a Sunday evening. There was nothing near by. We went toward the downtown area and most restaurants were closed. Need to look for something on down the road into the suburbs.
