Great hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle

My only critique is that the gym is the size of a broom closet. That is it.. Other than that, this... See full review

The contemporary hotel has 415 rooms and nine suites, all filled with amenities to suit lifestyle-minded travelers. The W Seattle has a full-service restaurant, and Seattle Weekly magazine named W Bar the best hotel bar in the city. The downtown hotel is within walking distance of city sights, dining and shopping. The W Seattle's concierge service, Wherever Whenever, helps guests plan the ideal Emerald City vacation.

Good hotel, odd location for personal trip

Downtown Seattle continues to change a lot, and the hopping parts of town keep shifting. This location works well for business travel, but is a little odd for personal travel -- it is close to many good areas (Pioneer Square, Belltown, etc.), but is in an odd spot itself. So don't expect to be in the heart of a bustling downtown the second you walk outside on the weekends. The hotel itself is great, though, and the staff are excellent. Had drinks at the bar (good) but didn't eat at the restaurant.

Location convenient to Link light rail

Overall, was a nice stay. There was some noise in the morning coming from the hallways, my room was a bit compact, and the bathroom could've used an upgrade, but I liked the proximity to the public transit station, 2 blocks to the northwest at University and 3rd Avenue. The W is known as a hipster accommodation and this one is no different. Would stay here again.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

The Public Market at 1st Ave and Pike is a not to be missed shopping extravaganza where surprises abound everywhere! Across the street, be sure to visit the very first ever Starbucks and a scrumptious French patisserie called Le Panier. Try a chocolate croissant. It's one of their most popular items amongst all the freshly baked goods.
