Great location

Given the price of the rooms, was very surprised rooms did not include internet, was surprised coffee was not included in rooms, however provided downstairs. With that, surprised morning breads were not provided.

One night stay

While our stay was short (a single night) the room was comfortable and very nicely appointed. During check in the front desk informed us that we were being "upgraded" to a corner room. Sounded great, but the views were of an adjacent parking structure and surrounding roof top..... not exactly "upgraded" in my opinion. Downtown location was close to Pikes Market and offered the walking closeness we desired. Terrific restaurants close by made the evening an enjoyable one.

Great stay at the W Seattle!

We had a near perfect stay at the W Seattle in late June. 4.5 stars, half a star docked for a minor room inconvenience, which will be explained below. The staff was extremely friendly upon check-in, and even though the room wasn't ready right away, they held our bags and called me back right away when the room was ready (which was ahead of the anticipated time). The room- these are the most comfortable beds in any hotel. I don't care what anyone else says, but W beds are the best. The bathrooms are big, clean, and modern. The room is quite spacious. This gets a big thumbs up. The one gripe was the TV. The TV was good-sized, and worked initially, but then all of a sudden the analog channels (ESPN, and others) came in very fuzzy. The maintenance man couldn't fix it, and we had to change rooms because of this (I had to watch my World Cup!). They were even so kind as to send a basket of snacks and other goodies for the room change! Check out- seamless, quick and easy, like every hotel should be. Hotel- The hotel is smallish, yet stylish and clean. I enjoyed the restaurant downstairs for the food and the scene. The DJ spins on the weekends, and they have a reverse happy hour that starts at 10PM I think, which was a good bargain and fun. And the food was real good too. The location is perfect- not a far walk to Pike's Place and other main attractions downtown. 4.5 stars (rounded up to 5) for the W Seattle!

Amazing fries down stairs at the bar/restaurant. I mean, some of the best fries I've ever had. The sushi was quite good too.

Good hotel, odd location for personal trip

Downtown Seattle continues to change a lot, and the hopping parts of town keep shifting. This location works well for business travel, but is a little odd for personal travel -- it is close to many good areas (Pioneer Square, Belltown, etc.), but is in an odd spot itself. So don't expect to be in the heart of a bustling downtown the second you walk outside on the weekends. The hotel itself is great, though, and the staff are excellent. Had drinks at the bar (good) but didn't eat at the restaurant.

Decent time in Seattle, but nothing to write (home) about...

We arrived for a one night stay for the Seahawks game this past Sunday, rather early in the day. Our room wasn't ready, no big deal since it was 11am, but the staff really wasn't too helpful with taking our bags and holding them, as you would expect. In fact, the staff didn't even hold the door as we were walking in. The biggest problem was that their garage was full, and so we had to park next door. "Don't worry", says the valet, "its only $35 next door but with us it's $47". Pretty steep either way, but what was really steep was the actual $51 bill from the parkade next door for a 23 hour stay, no in and out or valet service. The room was great, and the free coffee and newspapers was a nice touch. Location is phenomenal - the staff just needs a bit of polishing and they need a plan for when their parking is full.
