nice no frills experience but what a great comfortable bed

Hotel room offered basics the room was relatively small and unimpressive it centered on emphasizing big comfortable king size bed which was extremely comfortable it made resting/sleeping on it a blissful experience

Not quite that extravagant...

This hotel is an average hotel for the price paid and location. I figured that it was going to be an outstanding stay because it was ranked so high from other post. My main issue was that you are charged an arm and a leg for almost anything additional at this hotel. Parking was $40 per night at the hotel. The mini bar is a great item to have except for the fact they charged $5 for a can of Coke. Internet is $15 a day, etc. Bottom line is you can find a better hotel outside the city and drive downtown to see the sights.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Best shopping in the area is the South Center Mall. It is a short drive from downtown.

Long weekend in Seattle

Westin Seattle hotel, room 4333, had a view obstructed by the top of an office building's noisy exhaust fans which ran 24 hrs a day. Eventually, the sound became 'white noise', but was less than pretty to look at. To the left of this building was Puget Sound and there was a view of a river to the right of it. There was a good view of the Space Needle which was lit at night. There were lots of crowds when the cruise ships were in. There were lots of homeless people on every street as well as those 'emotionally disabled' who were random in their approaches and verbal attacks on passersby. The city could be a fabulous place to visit....very eclectic and interesting. Food is expensive in restaurants....best restaurant found was "Icon", waiter, Gumero, was exceptional! Body scans at the SEATAC airport. probably won't return. Westin charges for internet access in the rooms.

Unique hotel

This is a uniquely-shaped hotel, that is a tourist attraction in itself. The staff is friendly, the views are fantastic, and the location is great because you are close to all the Seattle attractions.

Mountain views on a clear day!

I stayed for 5 nights at the Westin Seattle and was very pleased with my stay. I joined their free loyalty club and received a free room upgrade. The view from the 46th floor rooms is fantastic! The hotel is just a few blocks from the market and many great restaurants.

Great family with teen getaway

Wonderfully comfortable bed. Great central downtown location. Walk to monorail. Pike street market, waterfront, shopping. Fantastic workout and swim areas. Nice views. Would rethink parking at hotel, though-- Was overly expensive.

Conference

The location was perfect! A good 5-7 minutes walk to the pier and less to the shopping areas. Lots of good places to eat at walking distance. Checking in was a breeze and efficient. The room was a nice size, clean and tidy, but you can see that it is old. The stay was comfortable and convenient. Might not return because of the high price.

Great Hotel and Centrally Located

This hotel is beautiful! I was on the 41st floor directly across from the Space Needle and a gorgeous view of the water. Beautiful room with great amenities. It was only a couple of blocks to major dept store shopping (Nordstroms, Macy's etc) and about 6 blocks to Pikes Market. A nice 1 mile walk to the Space Needle (That's a must see. Have lunch at the restaurant. You'll get a beautiful clear view of all Seattle from the restaurant as it turns constantly. View from the observation deck is obstructed with wires) These are a couple of places I ate that I would definately recommend you visit: Salumi's (Pioneer Square. The BEST salami's and lunch meat you will ever have) Beechers Cheese Shop (Pikes Market. Delicious cheese they make right there and a grilled cheese sandwich like no other!) Cutters (Pikes Market. You have to get the Halibut Cheeks and Salmon/Crab Chowder. Awesome!) I took my teenage son for a short 3 day trip and he really enjoyed it as much as I did. So much great seafood and such a perfect city for walking around. Its super clean, the locals are very friendly. Great visit!!!

Nice hotel and friendlly, helpful staff

Enjoyed the stay and did a lot of sightseeing. The hotel is in a great location. The only thing that was disappointing was that the rooms are misrepresented on the hotel website -- the hotel is advertised as having floor to ceiling windows, which wasn't the case. Also, it was quite small.

Great downtown hotel

I stayed at the Westin to attend Seattle Opera's Ring cycle in August. The lobby bar was a busy scene after the performances. It has a perfect location, with Pike Place Market and many restaurants only a short walk away. It was ideal for my daily run, with a map helpfully provided by the concierge. Book a high floor for the fantastic views of city and coastline.
