watch the Green Option
The Westin Seattle is not the best choice one could make. We found our room to be a little tried. The carpet was starting to fray with a few stains. In addition, it took three calls for service to get an issue resolved. Unlike most places we have stayed, The Westin Seattle Green option in more than that. In most places the Green Option is not changing the linens. In the Westin, it involves no house keeping at all. If you choose this option it is impossible to get that change. After three calls to get house keeping, we never got it.

Unsatisfied Customer
had noisy neighbors and hotel was not effective in getting them to quite down. Started at 10:00 p.m. and continued to 5:00 a.m. even after 3 calls to the front desk. Asked for phone to be placed on DND as every half-hour our room phone would ring one time and then stop (think neighbors were retaliating for calling security) and ended up having to unplug the phones to get the calls to stop. TV resolution was incorrect - HD tv with everyone short and fat. Staff at the hotel were not able to correct the view/resolution settings. Had to pay $10.00 a day for internet.

Quick Seattle getaway
Marginal for the cost, the location is great and the view from the N tower was cool. Check in was poor, long lines with too little help. Our room was supposed to be ready at 3P, but we could not get it until nearly 6p. We had to wander around downtown waiting for our room, when we really wanted to get changed to go out to a nice dinner. Elevators were horrible. We consistently had to wait 10-15 minutes for elevators. This is not a cheap hotel, you would think the service would be better for what the costs are. I would consider Sheraton

Good location, so-so cleanliness
This hotel was in a great location and easily accessible to Monorail, Seattle Center, downtown shopping, Pike's Market, the Science Fiction Museum and close to the freeway. If you rent a car, beware of the valet parking fee ($40/day). Also, there is not a lot of attention to cleanliness. Our hotel bathroom had hairs on the floor and ceiling. There was a dirt stain on the bedspread, in plain view, and it was never changed. They don't put out any shower soap for you. But the view was great and they did put us close to an elevator at our request. Staff was friendly and valets were helpful with directions. Elevators sometimes had a long wait. Also, the hotel's distinctive round construction makes it easy to find in the skyline when you're lost or unsure of your bearings.

Money-saving tip:
Not Applicable
Don't rent a car, parking is horribly expensive and you'll hardly use the car. Use self-parking if you're given the option. Also, don't buy from the mini-bar, there are convenience stores in walking distance.

Not a good stay
Room was moved once due to musty smell only to be moved to a less musty area. My wife and I both had room keys that stopped working at the same time and was told we demagnetized them. (At the same time?) Security let us in and they were to bring keys to our room... never made it! Checked out the next day. Cost of parking is ridiculous for guest ($30+)!!! We had to park at a building a block away for the low low price of $18 per night! Valet for a couple hours to change cloths, etc will run you $20.

Overpriced
The room was very nice, bright and clean but the food was way overpriced, the concierge put me on hold for 20 minutes every time I called, I called housekeeping one night to have the bed made up fresh and an hour and a half later I called down and cancelled. I just couldn't stay up any longer. I wrapped up in the quilt and slept on top of the bed. There weren't any pop machines and the honour bar was too expensive. Plus, you can't use the honour bar as a fridge. But the room had a safe that I used a lot and that was great. The cafe in the lobby closed very early, I can't remember seeing it open. Why have it at all?

Long walk from hotel
Pike Place market is just a few blocks away and well worth the walk. Check out the many restaurants and eateries in the area. Don't bother going to Ivar's. Unfortunately, it isn't the great place it used to be. Dined with four friends and everyone rated the food just so-so, and none of us are picky eaters. Sad. It used to be so great.

Family Vacation in Seattle
Overall the stay was good. I had read several web posts complaining about smelly & dated rooms. I didn't think it was all that bad and the wife didn't complain so it must have been OK. The location is good, it's a short walk to Pike Place Market. Other hotels we considered we closer to the downtown action than the Westin as the hotel is located a little farter north of the other hotels. There was a convenient bus terminal one block away that made the rest of downtown pretty accessible. Dining choices in the hotel were limited. Only one small cafe open for a.m. breakfast and one restraunt open for dinner. The cafe seating was chaotic when the place was busy as most tables were for two making it hard to seat families. BTW, try the Seatlle Granola w/ fresh berries - very good. If the staff was more than luke warm, the rooms were a little more modern and the restraunt choices were better, I'd rate the Westin higher. As it is, it's just OK.

bad first taste, but things improved
When I checked in it was obvious that the room cleaning had been a rush job: there was trash on the dresser, dirty soap in the soap dish and, quite honestly, I'm not sure that I slept in clean sheets the first night. I complained next morning, and things were fine after that. But I wouldn't stay there again. Also, valet parking was ridiculously expensive. (I think tonier places, like Inn at the Market, offer cheaper valet rates.)

Not so special.
We have stayed at a lot of westin hotels, and have been very happy in the past. This visit however was a disappointment. They like to hype their heavenly beds, but ours was a retractible bed, and the box springs were saggy in the middle. To make matters worse, the room was very noisy. All of the sounds made within a couple room area was heard. For the price, and the reputation of these hotels...this was a downer. Just make sure if you book with them you dont get the fold up bed. The hotel is in a good location, and thats about all i can say positive for this visit.
